According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange Country Register “Yasiel Puig will not be taking batting practice on the field with #Dodgers Rode stationary bike this afternoon, headaches came back.”

Nice and sunny here.
You just keep holding out, SNLA and T/W Cable, pretty soon no one will care anyway…
Sad but true. I still find it hilarious that Prime Ticket is covering the D-Backs. Salt in the wound.
Suddenly I’m getting Fox San Diego for Padres games. That’s in addition to SPNLA and Fox Sports West for Angels games.
Bah. I hope Kershaw is up to his usual tomorrow.
Not with a bang, but a whimper . . .
Wow, they started up again!
Unfortunately . . . the offense is in their “all tease, no results” mode. Feels like Groundhog Day.
In May, so far, we averaging 5 runs per game, as compared to April 4 runs.
Did you stay?
Nope (now that would have been nuts and not sure my friend’s three year-old would have held up).
Call the game, umps.
Giants caught ’em — they are on fire these days!
*Extraordinarily fortunate.
Pirates clinging to a lead vs. Giants after an 8-2 lead all but evaporates . . . guess LA ain’t the only team where winning don’t come easy.
Bucs got one back.
not the best start
I remember Catfish Hunter giving up a couple of homers in a WS game and
saying afterward that he’d had a couple of friends there and they’d
never seen one, so he gave ’em a couple.
Off to the stadium!
I envy you!
Started raining even before Dee got in the box. Figured that if they waited so long to put on the tarp, it was probably because they felt that they would never be able to start again, so left right away. I am guessing day/night doubleheader on Weds.
Sorry for you, Bob, but just as good for the Blue . . . just looking at the boxscore, it looked like it was going to be “another one of those” offensive efforts.
The WaPo seems to think that our pen ain’t so bad, but with a reliever W-L of 4-9, I think this is wrong.

The pen has been overworked, which is at least a partial explanation. The starters have not gone deep into games, which is partly a function of Kershaw’s absence.
Is this Mattingly or Honeycutt’s fault. Seems to me that LA pitchers have high pitch counts by the 5 inning. IMO, there is a need for the staff to learn to pitch to contact better.
League average is 95 pitches in 6 innings for starters. Our starters are 96 pitches in 5.7 innings.
Not clear to me that pen is overworked (would need to look at the numbers). More like having to give the ball to guys not pitching well (Paco, Wilson). We are at 5.7 innings pitched by starters compared to league average of 6.0. Not familiar enough wit that stat to know if 0.3 makes much difference. Then again, we have had a bunch of xinnings.
