Game 48, 2016

Reds at Dodgers, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA, FS-O

Scott Kazmir (3-3, 5.23 ERA) will try to get his form back after a rough game his last time out. In that one he walked seven Padres, gave up three hits including a two-run single to the opposing pitcher and somehow avoided taking the loss when the Dodgers scored six runs only to lose on a Justin Melvin Upton walk-off home run.

His opponent will be right-hander Dan Straily (2-1, 2.85 ERA), who threw six innings of one-run ball against the Mariners on Friday but got no decision for his hard work.

This is the last game in a stretch of 20 consecutive ones for the Dodgers. They head for New York and Chicago for six games beginning Friday.

    • My only disappointment is that one Mr. Vin Scully won’t be announcing the game. But on the flip side – it is the free MLB.tv game of the day so I will be able to watch Urias first start!!

      • Also – crazy! I had just finished reading an article this morning about Boras (Urias’ agent) being in step with the Dodgers in regards to not bringing Urias up yet. Not that I care what Boras thinks, but it did seem to make sense not to rush him up to the majors until later this year. I was wanting Urias pitch more innings or at least go beyond 80 pitches but was thinking that should happen at OKC not NYC!

  1. Feel like I almost don’t deserve to say this since I wasn’t around much but…

We win! Sweep and 4 in a row.

Also – grrrr SF. Lose already…

  2. Sorry I’m late to the party. Looks like Kazmir got his groove back. My guess is that 2 starts ago he was overextended (120 pitches) and it cost him a bit last start.
And it’s easier to pitch well against the Reds…

      • At Ezeiza, both immigration and airport security were quick and efficient today. It helps, of course, that you don’t have to remove your shoes or take your laptop out of the bag.
