I just don’t like negative comments about Dodger pitching.
Merely an observation – could have contributed to the rustiness.
OK, makes a DP easier I guess.
I would have preferred two more bunts.
If Ottavino catches that ball…
Met fans would be saying the runs were tainted because of soft contact.
About time !!!!!!!
So many of us have been wanting more bunts for years.
Tens of you!
That comment hints that you were against Taylor bunting.
CT3 bunting in that situation, given his hitting woes, seemed OK. Not sure it leaves me wanting more bunts.
Pages has been slumping for awhile now.
I wouldn’t have wanted Pages bunting in that situation.
another break!
String those hits.
Come on Lux.
Situation calls for a dinger!
Stringing hits together has been a challenge lately.
but that helps.
Freeman with 3rd hit and it was a charm
Getting a runner to third constitutes a rally.
A break!
Nice play by Lux to start the DP
Glasnow and Yamamoto have been pitching below their paygrade. lately.
Yams got beat by two cheap bloops the other night. Very soft contact.
Last game 5.2 innings, 5 hits 2 walks, 4 earned runs
The runs all scored on two bloopers that happened to be unreachable.
4 runs are 4 runs.
He pitched well, but was unlucky.
If the Dodgers would score a run or two we wouldn’t be having this conversation. They aren’t giving us enough to talk about.
They aren’t scoring runs so you start complaining about the pitching?
Complaining? Complaining would look like this:

Terrible situational hitting by Lux.
yeah, complaining about the hitting.
Evaluating ballplayers based upon boxscores?
What would baseball be without stats?
Two of his last 3 games have not been what one might expect from someone earning his salary and that is what I meant by them pitching below their paygrade lately.
We are not getting our moneys worth from Yamamoto.
A few more walks than usual, one pretty costly, but 2 ER over 6 suggests Glasnow has rebounded from the past two poor starts.
He has settled into this game and is stats through 6 look better than they did after 4.
So, you agree.
His paygrade sets a high bar for expectations and the Mets aren’t exactly a big offense team, but yes, this is now a quality start.
Some really good dialog about pitching grip by the NY announcers.
Timely DP! Good mound visit.
I’m about to land in Boston for my 50th reunion. I’ll be checking in but mostly otherwise engaged. Hoping for an offensive resurgence very soon.
¡Miércoles!
The way we’re (not) hitting, this feels like a mountain.
At some point, in the not-too-distant future, Dodger offense will absolutely explode.
That will be nice.
Ugh. Here we go again. Walks always come back to haunt Glasnow.
Terrible situational hitting by Lux.

Ramirez will serve as the 27th man for the Dodgers during their doubleheader against the Mets. The left-handed reliever has permitted four runs with a 3:5 K:BB over 9.1 innings during his time in the majors this season.

The teams will now play two games on Tuesday, with first pitch set for 1:10 p.m. PT/ 4:10 p.m. ET. The second game of the doubleheader will take place shortly after the first one ends. The teams will be able to call up a 27th man for the game.
Thanks for the update/report.
Game delayed until tomorrow due to weather. Double header, it looks like.
So I just saw.
Bill Walton has died at age 71. I knew his sister when she was a Berkeley student.
I’m sorry to hear this.
Used to play rec basketball with his brother back in the day. Shorter and beefier than his brother, Bruce played OL for UCLA and Dallas Cowboys.
Heavens to betsy, a run!
A what?
The lineup. Shohei will play game one only, out of respect for his hamstring. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8a26ca11020a53217599c8cdb34485ff5dd3c48c0cfc3694a846ab30dc0f7485.png

Woo-HOO! I’m amazed.
Shall we move to Game 57?
Yes.
Wow!! Dodgers steal one with help from the Mets defense.
That win came out of nowhere.

Good show Freddie!
Freddy, it has been his day.
Freddie.
Yay Freddie.
Shohei looks overmatched these days.
Ohtani gets the rest of the day off.
a lead!
Breathe out…
Hudson looks rusty.
He is a good pitcher
He is, but he hadn’t pitched in eight days.
