Dodgers at Rays, 1:10 PM PDT, TV: BS Sun, SPNLA
LHP Clayton Kershaw (6-4, 2.98 ERA) pitches for the Dodgers and RHP Tyler Glasnow (0-0, 0.00 ERA) makes his season debut for the Rays. Interestingly, these two paired off against one another twice in the 2020 World Series, and Kershaw and the Dodgers defeated Glasnow and the Rays twice. He’s been recovering from a left oblique strain.
- 1904 In the team’s 3-1 victory over the Superbas at the Polo Grounds, Giants first baseman Dan McGann steals five bases to establish a major league record. Dear God, the game tomorrow starts at 0535 my time! That’s 1135 in
Tampa/St. Pete. Why so early?
Gee whiz.
11:35 a.m. Florida time. I wonder it is so early.
No mercy with this line up. We should loan them a couple of players!
Thompson and Barnes?
And Syndergaard.
Yep.
Does BALCO have a branch operation in Tampa?

Saturday starts off with a positive as Pads blow one to Yanquis.
This team strikes out way too much. Nuff said. Stop swinging for a HR on every pitch and every count. Put the freaking ball in play…
Easy peasy.
Well done, young Ferguson!
Link, remember that tomorrow’s game is an early morning blackout.
I just heard Joe (or his fill-in) or Orel say “bright and early,” so I was coming to look. Thanks.
Woo-HOO!!!!!
That’s better!
All for you, WBB!
Ump!!!
We need better futuring.
Sorry. Trying!
Tension…
C’mon, Caleb!
Vargas!!!
Slowly but consistently, Vargas is showing why the Dodgers have faith in him
If there was such a designation, Taylor should be our designated fielder.
That’s more like it!
Trayce is hopeless.
Ugh. Rays doing all the scoring suddenly.
The Rays are very very good – not a fluke.
Quite a few of them are over-performing their career numbers.
But will they regress to the mean?
They’re good, but maybe not quite so good as they’ve shown so far.
Indeed.
Peralta goes?
Shin and chin music from Glasnow
Max gets JD home with another tattooing of the ball.
Nice hard contact today.
Many additional pitches made after third out was overturned at third. The slider was better than the tagger.
As the announcers were saying, that was always an out call before replay. Taggers probably need a new technique. Instead of waiting for the runner to slide into the tag, perhaps they need to lunge toward the runner and meet them with the ball.
Bring him home Willie.
Kersh mostly hitting the strings.
Make that strumming strings. Music to my ears.
Killer curve from Glasnow.
Max meets meatball!
MAX!!!
Max says, I remember you!

Balk? Seriously?
Wonder how often that has happened to Klayton?
