That would be Mary Chapin Carpenter, and the album is titled The Things That We Are Made Of.

It’s mostly very quiet and introspective. I like it a lot, but I’ve been a fan of hers since I first found her music back in 2008. I’ve bought every album she’s released but one, and I don’t know how I missed it.

If you like MCC you’ll like this album. If you like thoughtful lyrics, a good contralto voice, excellent arrangements of guitar, piano and sometimes strings, you’ll like it even if you’ve never heard her songs before.
