Three walks, a single, a triple, a homer and a runner reaching on an error. Seven of the 12 Brewer batters have reached base. We’re fortunate that it’s only three runs.
Ack!! Defense let us down.
What a base runner!
Helps him lead in position player WAR, even though he doesn’t play a position!
Ump McSqueezy..
Only one squeeze for them. Two so far for us and counting.
Bucs and Rox continue to roll over and play dead for Fryers and Snakes. Ferris's return has to be a question mark tonight, but we'll hope for the best.
Agreed. A strong outing from Buehler tonight would buoy my confidence in the Dodgers' chances down the stretch and in the postseason. . . Final scores:
Arizona over Colorado, 11-4, and San Diego over Pittsburgh, 8-2.
A game to forget.
¡Un miércoles verdadero!
¡Un miércoles verdadero!
Top of the order is what you want.
But…
Down in order
Dang, they weren’t going to run on Mookie in any event
Want to win the game and all that, but why the rush to judgment?
I'm not optimistic about him.
That’s fine, but you are a fan.
Buehler Blues.
Back to where we started.
Pull him, Doc, if he doesn’t get this guy out, or is no one up in the pen?
Stretching in the pen.
Sigh.
As Mo points out, Walker just can’t finish them off.
He's all over the place. I doubt we'll ever again see the Ferris we used to love.
Dang. Walker not looking too great
Zero command.
Another DP!
Nope.
Nope. I thought so too.
Fifty minutes and we are still in the second inning.
Jose Mota covering for Monday on radio. Anyone heard him?
I thought pretty good. I was always a big Manny Mota fan ever since he was a Tacoma Giant (gnot a Gnat).
Oh, Ahmed.
Very fast runner likely safe anyway.
Ahmed knew it and tried to position for the throw.
I’m glad the bullpen mostly didn’t pitch yesterday.
No one in the pen tonight pitched yesterday
Four-inning-saver went back to OKC.
Welp. It wasn’t a walk.
Okay this time it went our way.
Mike P. Just put out an article promoting the notion that while focus has been on infield hits being suppressed by the shift leading to new regs, outfield hits also have become more precious with better defensive outfielders than before and improved positioning.
I still have fond memories of Scioscia bouncing Donell Nixon halfway back to third base.
Familiar voice that I haven’t heard in a long time with Mr. Monday.
How is DFAhmed in the lineup?
Rojas at 35, not actually a spring chicken, has played in ever game since returning from IL.
Old friend Grant Holmes – first-round pick in 2014 – finally made it to majors with Barves this year and is starting v. Gnats tonight. He's been decent in long relief so far.
Montas and Grant were part of trade with A’s that brought us Dick Mountain.

August 14th
1919 The Robins and Cubs split a doubleheader, needing only two hours and seventeen minutes to complete the contests. In the opener, the Cubs blank Brooklyn 2-0, in one hour and ten minutes, and their opponents take one hour and seven minutes to shut them out in the nightcap, 1-0.
At 71-49, the the Dodgers are 22 games above .500, the most that they have been this season. They have the best record in the NL and are tied with the Guardians for the best record in MLB. Despite some recent troubles, the Dodgers are 15-8 since the All-Star break and 8-3 this month.
Ahmed error really hurt.

Something brewing.
Slow brewing, but it worked.

Luxy!
Very alert call by Roberts.
Well crap.
Ferris took very indirect route to first.
Hey NY got one right for a change.
Better inning for Ferris.
I think that this will be the inning of decision.
Needs to get as much rope as possible.
Want to win the game and all that, but why the rush to judgment?

DP and K! Yes!
Routine 8-2 DP.
Woot!
So is Kiermaier.
Kiermaier!
William is dangerous
Ok, Walker. DP or K and DP.
DP!
Ferris off to inauspicious start.
Hasn’t found the zone at all yet.
Keggers' owner is stealing sand from Malibu. https://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/brewers-owner-mark-attanasio-sand-stealing-malibu-19656594.php
Ump! Really?
Good start, Blue!
Babe Barnes.
Kiermaier must have been practicing the dance.
Can we put this to bed before the Brewers get up?
