Padres beat the A's 4-3 on a leadoff walkoff in the 9th by Kyle Higashioka. I just realized that it is impossible to have a solo leadoff walkoff homer in extra innings,
Cummings' voice is remarkable. He has three concerts scheduled in Ohio in late September: Cincinnati, Huber Heights and Northfield. He is 76.
Thanks Scoop.
You're welcome. I just ordered Guess Who's greatest hits CD from Amazon. I guess that I am old school.
Woo-HOO!!!
Yay!!
KT3 can't even hit a 48 mph changeup.
Glasnow has to be shaking his head.
Taylor will (gulp) get an AB.
Swing hard Taylor and join the party
Well, at least he didn't strike out.
I was thinking the same thing. Taylor is now batting .101 this season, Koufax's career batting average was .097. His best batting average was .177 in 1965, when he also had a pretty fair year on the mound,
Nothing like a good old Texas Barbeque.
The Lone Run State
Padres-A’s 3-3 after 8. Old friend Scott Alexander just pitched Oakland out of a jam.
Astros beat the Giants, 3-1.
Homers on the Rangers.
Very very clever, Scoop!
Aw, shucks.
Jay-Hey!!!! Woot!
Holy Cow!!
It seems to have been a while since we have had a laugher. The game Saturday was 11-3, but most of the joking came late.
My goodness.
Au revoir?
Goodness gracious! Save some for tomorrow, fellas.
Wowser! Everybody’s heating up!
Adios!
I'm always about 20 seconds behind. Extra Innings
Ba-da-boom.
Sayonara!
Paxton. James Paxton.
First he makes Ramirez into a good pitcher with a whisper and now Lux. Roberts: Baseball Whisperer.
Can Doc cure all ailments? Like the Doc on Gunsmoke?
That Doc had about 3 bottles in his cabinet to choose from.
That's Doc Holliday, no?
More like Bones.
Lux stringing some good barrels together.
Apparently Doc gave him a pep talk last week. It seems like it took!
Fun game to watch as I make a big pot of veggie soup for my husband and pack for a five day trip to Colorado. I’ll be up at the crack of dawn, but enjoying the cracks of the bats tonight!
And the cracking bats continue!
Mookie rolls a strike and clears the pins
Is that considered a strike or a spare. He picked up the three pins left.
But it was also a full rack
On the other hand Rojas rolled a gutter ball on first roll so maybe a spare.
LOL. A keen observation.
MOOOOOK!!!
Yessire
What a crap call. Rojo got hosed.
He looked at two in that general area so he thought as long as I am just looking why not look at another.
Bottom people setting the table.
Pa-has doing better than Ro-has.
Clever.
Bottom people put a meal on the table and Mookie clears the table. It was a great meal.
Bottom people set the table and Mook served the entree.
Paxton has changed his game plan from his last outing. He is letting his fielders make great plays on hard hit balls.
A Willy Dilly!!!
Cheatros vs Gnats. Too bad they both can't lose. I have to root for the Gnats. I truly loathe the cheating Astros.

My pleasure Scoop. How've you been?
Thanks for asking. I've been good, but busy. I umpired a pair of youth doubleheaders — 11- and 12-year-old — over the weekend and I was beat when they were done. The tourney was organized by one of my neighbors, a real good guy and a firefighter. I might be biting off more than I can chew at times, but I truly love umpiring. The youth baseball tournaments start in full swing next week. I am now in my 22nd year and there are two adult leagues coming up: 45-and-over and 30-and over. Some of the guys played minor league ball; many played in college. I helped coach JV baseball at one of the local high school for three years. I also do free-lance writing and editing. What about yourself?
Doing well Scoop. Thanks. Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself doing something you love.
Thank you. And I hope that you are doing well also. Do you live in or near Columbus
I live in Pataskala which is about 15 miles outside of Columbus.

Does Pax get the 7th? 87 pitches thru 6.

Are we going to see Corey this series or no?
Hamstring. Who knows.
