  1. Dodgers with 27 AB, or more, OPS, last 15 Days –

    1.085 / 44 AB / Freeman
    1.017 / 27 AB / Heyward

    .953 / 51 AB / T. Hernandez
    .944 / 39 AB / Pages

    .895 / 27 AB / Rojas
    .861 / 40 AB / Smith

    .703 / 30 AB / K. Hernandez

    .662 / 50 AB / Betts
    .646 / 30 AB / Lux
    .595 / 47 AB / Ohtani

Others, less than 27 AB –

    1.092 / 13 AB / Vargas
    .781 / 11 AB / Barnes
    .210 / 19 AB / Taylor

Betts, Ohtani, and Lux need to get with the program.

  2. Watched part of Gnats game today, and closed caption referred to Texas starter as “Vivaldi.”

  3. Grisham was one of the most loathsome Fryers ever, and he’s brought that to Yanquis. Plus, Glasnow blew it badly.

  4. Fun to watch Judge this series. Glad not to have seen Soto and Judge however.

  5. Ok, so that’s why this was such a hyped series, these Yanks are good.

  6. That could be the third game in a row where Judge gets the last rbi of the game.

  7. Ok Dodgers. Time to go to work with the bats and the hits and the run scoring.

    • Unbelievably bad slide. No one wants to repeat what Tommy Davis did on a slide but it isn't that hard to keep the lead leg/foot down.

  8. Glansow pitched well tonight. A bit unlucky, but the home runs weren’t.

    • Should have been taken out after the wild pitch following Verdugo and Judge singles.

  9. I just heard the ESPN crew ask the question of whether MLB should retire Willie Mays number across baseball. I can certainly see the argument for it, but I think let’s just keep it at Jackie.

    MLB retired #42
    NHL retired #99
    NBA retired #6.
One number per league makes sense to me.

    • He gets a lot of votes for GOAT but does there need to be more to retire his number. Clemente died delivering food to his home country.

    • Agreed. One per league is enough. If Mays, why not Babe Ruth. He saved the game after the Black Sox scandal.

    • Too subjective and slippery slope. 42 was a game changer. 24 is a great player, the best according to some but not unanimous.

  10. The announcers keep talking about the first 3 hitters in the Dodger lineup and don't mention Smith. Meanwhile, Teo leads the team in home runs and RBI

  11. Did anybody else hear the announcers mention that Mookie has only a 9% K rate?

  12. I can see why the Dodgers needed to challenge on JHeys catch. But that seemed clear in real time that Smith gunned out the runner trying to steal second.

  13. Figured coming into this one tonight that the Yanks should be favoured. Tough to sweep them at home. And tough to win when you don’t give any support to your starting pitcher. But we will see.

    • You think that Glasnow not getting support is something more than random?

      • How many starts have it been?

I know it’s basically random but I did think that tonight – considering who they were facing – would not be the night they broke out of that randomness.

        • So you are saying that it is tough to win if you don’t score runs? I’ll buy it.

          • Haha. Basically, yeah. Im saying it’s tough to predict a win when you think the team is not going to score runs – because they don’t seem to score lately with Glasnow pitching.

          • “Considering who they were facing” refers to the opponent though.

  14. Poor Glasnow. That should have been a third out right there. Should be an error for sure.

  15. Would have been a ground ball DP except for the wild pitch the pitch before.

  16. Glasnow displeased with that walk. You could pick that up on the field mic.

  17. Apparently Gil has given up more walks than hits so far this season. But his WHIP is still 1 or lower.

  18. Dodgers (41-25)
    Yankees (45-21)

    SP Tyler Glasnow R
    6-4 2.92 ERA
    SP Luis Gil R
    8-1 1.82 ERA

    Lineup:
    SS Mookie Betts R
    DH S. Ohtani L
    1B F. Freeman L
    C Will Smith R
    LF T. Hernandez R
    RF J. Heyward L
    CF Andy Pages R
    2B Gavin Lux L
    3B E. Hernandez R

  19. I missed the last two innings, which sounded like the most fun. Now for the sweep!
