Blog back up, sorry for the delay … posted all in order
Go Dodgers!
Ah well. Still on pace for 99.
Not if they keep playing this listless ball.
I want to quote Joe Schultz via Jim Bouton, but that would be a Rule No. 1 violation.
At this point, I think we would excuse a Rule No. 1 violation.
Well, at least we didn’t leave anyone on in the 9th.
Pffftttt. See you tomorrow, my friends!
Have a nice evening.
Nope. And Will didn’t either.
Can Freddie get something started?
The rough patch of play for the Dodgers continues to night I see.
Yeppers.
Do you ever go to see the Goldeyes?
Absolutely. And one of my nephews works for them actually, as a statistician. He is in 2nd year university and would love to work as a data analyst for a career (in the sports realm).
It has been a thoroughly disappointing effort by the offense tonight.
Mookie gets a leadoff single in the 1st. Three straight easy outs. Then Freeman a leadoff double in the 4th. Three straight easy outs. Ohtani gets a triple with one out, and two straight unproductive outs…oh the bases loaded no out debacle in the second. 0-7 RISP.
The bottom three today is 0-for-7 with 3 Ks and 1 GIDP. Have you noticed that, Friedman?
Bottom four are 0 for 9.
Yes. Although Lux had what I thought would be a key walk.
I’ll cut some slack to Heyward, coming off a long absence.
OK.
Well, it could be worse. We could be the Braves.
Or the Trashtros…
We make them look like super stars.
Buehler is still rusty. Leaving pitches in the middle of the plate. He will be OK. Our offense is in a funk right now.
As much as I loathe John Fisher, I’m pleased the A’s dumped the Trashtros this afternoon.
The lesser of two evils?
Fisher’s the game’s worst owner, arguably more so than McCourt, but the Gnats’ Charles Johnson not such a distant second.
Ohtani jogging around to third while right fielder jogs to the corner to fetch the ball.
Willy says, Take a seat, meat.
As a Swedish-Norwegian descendant, I question that Cincy should ever have used a Viking helmet.
Yes, that’s a weird choice.
What would you suggest?
Steamboat captain’s hat?
I like it.
Yes, much improved.
The frustration continues: 0-for-5 with RISP.
They had a similar stretch in April, and rebounded spectacularly.
Here’s hoping. (WBBsAS, I’m not praying.)
Also not preying, hopefully.
You’re prying.
That looked like the real Freddie.
I think we need a outfielder who can hit for
power and fashion a decent batting average. We have sufficient expendable players in the farm system and even on our 25-man roster. And, regarding third base, Arenado is possibly available. It may be a pipe dream. However, i’d taker him over Muncy.
Arenado’s in serious decline. Max’s stats much better. They’re the same age.
I will defer to WBBsAs and Ohio Dodgers.
FWIW, Max is about four months younger.
Pass on Arenado. Max OPS .798, Arenado .693. Max with 28 RBI and Arenado with 22 in 47 more AB’s. Plus, no way I would take on the remainder of Arenado’s contract.
But we could certainly use a better hitting outfielder.
Also, Max’s defense has been excellent so far.
In a few more months, that outfielder could be Ohtani.
In theory, but would they risk it?
He is already throwing from the rubber so if he doesn’t make throws with 100% effort, maybe.
If you thought Smoltz was bad, now we get scam artist Michael Milken.
I thought the game started later. We are not blowing anyone away these days…
Too bad there’s not a mute button for Smoltz.
We’re giving up homers like candy on Halloween.
Another pitch right down the middle. Darn.
That pretty much sums up the bottom of the order these days.
Seriously missing Muncy, who makes the order deeper.
Definitely.
Yep, unfortunately. If things don’t improve in the next month and half, AF is going to have to make some moves at the trade deadline.
Well, at least the tying run came in.
Can the bottom third of the order do something?
Well, they did get a run in, and have made Greene work hard.
Excellent AB by Lux.
Ferris having a hard time putting anyone away.
Rats!! Hanging slider right in the middle.
Mookie gets himself picked off? Uggh
In case anyone failed to notice, today’s game is a national broadcast on Fox.
Well that was pathetic. Wasted a leadoff double.
3 for their last 26 WRISP. Ugh.
Game #54, one third of the way thru the season.
Dodgers (33-20)
Reds (21-30)

We are in a slump for sure.
But still on pace to win 100 games.

Pitiful.
That was weak.
Yarbrough’s just fair. (Forever?)

Today is one of Argentina’s independence days. The other is July 9th. Meanwhile, this is actually Game 54. https://x.com/Dodgers/status/1794451762268807414
