NPUT
Quiet bats and quiet night here as well.
No northern lights in Canadia?
Last night they were quite brilliant.
I’m jealous.
The colours are really stunning. Purples and greens. I’d post a pic but don’t see the link in the comments to do it.
I saw them in North Dakota once. Friends of mine have been watching the aurora australis instead.
In the fifth inning at Pittsburgh, the Cubbies have drawn six run-scoring walks.
If you need a chuckle to lift your spirits after last night’s game, watch the Gnats’ outfield score a run for the Reds. https://x.com/CincyProblems/status/1789149212317233399
Back to a 6 1/2-game lead in the NL West.
Dodgers win!
Mudita
I like beating the Padres more than I like beating the Giants.
I prefer swatting the Gnats. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/769ffbde98f75b08930822b6ac0d0c2df655f6923828a9d8f0166ce690945f13.png
Woo-HOO!!!
Yay!! Good job boys.
Max with the cannon!
Boom.
Bring on the Fire Iron.
Risin’ Fire Feyereisen.
Gold Glove for Max?
Max with the mad catch!
Nice snag. Saved a couple of runs. Max is more than holding his own at 3rd this year.
Max!!!
Mucho Max!
Let’s go Yarbs. You got this.
Lux makes the play a bit casually it seemed.
Outman with the diving out!
So fun to watch!
If you want a real laugher, look at the video I posted from the Gnats game last night.
Thanks – but I’m trying to move more in my life from schadenfreude (delight in others misery) to mudita (delight in others joy).
(I find this most difficult when thinking about the Edmonton Oilers however…)
Weil ich Deutsch sprechen kann, gefällt mir Schadenfreude.
Translation please.
Because I can speak German, I love Schadenfreude.
Ah.
Interesting life choice. Lol
It was once my second language, and I have a native speaker’s accent, but my Spanish is far better. I can get along in it, but most people I encounter speak much better English than I do German.
And that’s why you enjoy the misery of others? Lol
It’s cultural immersion.
Culture is not always right.
In this case it undoubtedly is.
Peace and love
A hit here might give WBB his laugher and negate the need for my joke below.

Found the picture link button. Lol.
From last night in Winnipeg. Full disclosure – pic is edited for effect.
Another fine outing by Mr Paxton. ERA down to 2.58. Best #5 starter in baseball.
Yessir!
0 BB.
Pages!
Nice grab by Pages.
Second (or third) fine catch of the night.
The bigger lead means they can go longer with Paxton.
On a one-year contract, Teóscar could be setting himself up for a big payday.
1-11 with RSIP. Way to make it count Teo!!!
Teouttahere!!!!
My TV crashed just before that happened.
That was just nuts!
Teostachio?
Teo!!!!
Holy Cow!
Wowser.
TEO!!!!!
Thanks RBI!
🙂
0-10 with RISP so far this series.
Make something out of nothing?
Bases loaded.
Not anymore!
Mucho!
¡Muchísimo!
Boy, these days if you are a little bit late and miss the start of the game, you tune in and it is already the fifth!
Nice work Pax!!
Some work here for James.
Dodgers not advancing runners from second with nobody out, but then Fryers help out.
But can’t cash in.
Mookie has cooled off considerably.
Sadly, it was pretty likely to happen. He was a fair bit above career norms.
I could use a laugher tonight.
A friend of mine went sky diving last summer. He did all the training and felt ready and relaxed for the jump.
When he left the plane, he focused on his count in order to pull the cord to open up his parachute. When he did pull it nothing happened. He took a breath and tried again. Still didn’t open. He tried the auxiliary cord but that didn’t work. He told me that this point he stated to get a bit nervous. He was looking around, looking for help.
All of a sudden he sees some one coming up towards him – which was very strange – but in his current state he said he was just kind of relieved. As he plummeted downwards and the other person kept rising up towards him, my friend called out to the guy “hey, do you know anything about parachutes?” The guy shouted back: “No. Do you know anything about gas bbq’s?”
Just in case the game stays close, here’s a laugh.
Hahahaha!
Beautiful play by Lux.
Thanks, Freddie! Let’s keep that going.
There’s a start!
As with yesterday, today’s game is free on MLBTV. So is tomorrow’s.
Thanks mom!
