Dodgers at Brewers, 1:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA, FSWI
The Dodgers send LHP Rich Hill (2-2, 4.09 ERA) to the mound to face the Brewers’ RHP Matt Garza (2-2, 3.98 ERA). Hill went five innings in his last start and threw 86 pitches, the most he’s thrown all year. He got the win against the Cardinals. Garza has lost two straight and given up ten runs in the 11 innings he pitched in those games.

Kenley enjoys his expanded role. We’ll see if he does in August and September.
Dodgers with late comeback, Volquez with a no-hitter, and Albert Pujols hit the 600th HR of his career tonight. He’s got the second-highest batting avg of any player in the club at .308. Ruth’s first at .342. Ruth had 2,873 hits to surround his fabled 714 HRs.
Oh my goodness, saw us down 8-4 then I had to go out until now, that’s an amazing win
From the Athletes Who Realize The Sport Isn’t Everything & Feel Good Depts.:
DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — Phil Mickelson says he will miss this month’s U.S. Open to attend his oldest daughter’s high school graduation.
Mickelson tells The New York Times that being at the ceremony for Amanda is something he will cherish forever.
This is the same daughter who was born the Monday after the 1999 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, the first of a record six runner-up finishes for Mickelson in the only major he never won. He carried a beeper that week and pledged to leave the tournament, even if he were leading, to be there for the birth.

I don’t follow every case, but it seems that Kenley is having the second best year-following-big-contract, only behind Kershaw.
Usually the player has a great year when the contract is up — they’re auditioning for the big payday — then they can’t repeat it. Kersh got better, as did KJ. (JT may also be there, we’ll see.)
Sure glad Kenley chose to stay!
Good come back win! Taylor!
Wow! I was umpiring a Pony DH today and it was 8-5 Brewers when I left. Arriving home 25 minutes I go on the Internet and see we are up 10-8. Tremendous! Shades of the Toles slam game in Denver last year.
The W is great, obviously.
The never-say-die attitude is terrific.
As is the running game. The long balls are great, obviously, but “Speed never slumps.”
What a great game.
How sweet it be!
Taylor takes a wary route and hauls it in.
Appropriate way to end this one.
Avoiding any possible confrontation with Puig.
Taylor could use the help in CF at this point.
We win!
Woo-HOO!!!!!!
Comeback Kids!!!!
C’mon, KJ!
I’m standing at the sink brushing my teeth as Monday says of Taylor’s ball “he hits it extremely well to center field.” Then Monday repeats it, voice rising a little. Then he says it a third time, emphasizing the “tremely.” That was fun.
Floss is better than loss.
Ha!
And great words, because no floss = loss!
Kenley time, I’m sure much to his surprise.
Roberts told people he wasn’t available. Monday guesses Jensen volunteered.
Woot!
Good hustle, Yasiel!
Taylor – MVP!
Holy moly I’m glad I saw that!
That is a Big Salami!
Taylor!!!!
You seem a little less excited than RBI.
Funny.
Taylor!!!!!!
Down by 2.
I love how our guys never give up.
And even win some of their crazy comeback attempts.
This could get fun.
Just came back from kayaking and see our slim lead disappeared.
Knocking on the door.
And bursting through it!
If we get five runs before we get six outs, we win! (Well, we gotta get them out too.)
You put that into the ether and 30 minutes later…..
See also, graveyard, whistling past. 😉
Fields of Nightmares.
Hoo boy.
Big Gulp. Grand Slam city for the WallBangers
Hatcher holding the Brewers hitless.
Unlike Fields.
Pederson finally gets to resume baseball activities.
Fields is up.
And now, Fields is in.
Too late.
Bring in Eibner.
I got my wish, sort of.
Puig is wearing out his welcome with me. I would almost rather play outfield with Jason Repko.
Ump doesn’t like Puig either.
Free solo’ climber conquers Yosemite’s El Capitan without rope, safety gear

More than an inning’s worth of Hatcher is a risk.
As demonstrated.
Yas sure loves the high fastball. But it doesn’t love him so much.
The one he hit yesterday was fairly high, but he really turned on it.
See the ball, whiff the ball.
Vólquez gets his no-no!
Splitter!
Things have changed. A one run lead is now considered Hatcher appropriate by Doc.
Thanks Puig!
Fun fact. The Dodgers have played the Cards (twice), the Cubs, and the Brewers in their last 4 series. Each team (except the Cards the second time) have started the series in first place in the NL Central.
Coming up next: first place Washington Nationals. And then after a series with Cincinnati, potentially first place Cleveland. So, they could possibly play 5 different first place teams in 5 out of 7 series.
And now the lead.
All your doing! Thanks for tuning in.
NP as my son likes to say.
Just tuning in to hear the Dodgers tying the score on the wild pitch!
In Miami, old friend Edinson Vólquez has made it interesting through seven v. the Snakes.
A Rich Hill start has become the baseball equivalent of a root canal.
I have a tooth that is sensitive to cold and to a much lesser extent to hot so please, no references to root canals.
Orlando is a pretty smiley guy out there at short.
I’ll check that out. I’ve been skipping through the game to catch up after a late start tuning in.
Good wood again from Seager.
Hill is wildly inconsistent. Literally.
Brand new ballgame.
Rich already over 40 pitches.
Squeezy ump not giving Hill the borderline strikes.
He also has no command.
Doesn’t help, does it?
Strike em out throw em out!
Somebody tell Steiner that, while the name “Aguiar” exists, there is nobody by that name in the Milwaukee lineup.
Off to a fine start!
If Rich Hill doesn’t go deep today, who will finish up? Báez and Kenley both worked hard in high-leverage situations yesterday. I’d say we might see more Stripling and Fields.
Ross can easily go 2-3 innings.
Ha! May need to go 4-5!
Eibner is good for 2
