Dodgers at Padres, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA, FSSD
The Dodgers switched starters around for tonight’s game. They had scheduled Kenta Maeda (16-9, 3.20 ERA) to pitch Wednesday and Jose De Leon tonight, but they reversed the order. It may be that they want Maeda to pitch the last game of the season in San Francisco if home-field advantage for the playoffs is still undecided.
His opponent will be Paul Clemens (3-5, 4.48 ERA), who hasn’t given up a run in his last two starts but who has had trouble going deep into games; his last outing was his longest of the year at 5 2/3 innings.
In playoff opponent news, the Nationals’ All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos is out for the season; he suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in Monday night’s game.
Vin Scully’s final game (Oct. 2 in SF) will be simulcast in its entirety on @SportsNetLA, @KTLA and @AM570LASports: https://t.co/DpPqWHjrZc pic.twitter.com/iIWsTOt2Sn

Hunter Renfroe now has three homers in 18 major league at bats, all this season, after hitting 30 in AAA this year.
To judge from his defense, he could be the next Mark Trumbo.
It is interesting how certain players are beginning to remove themselves from first-round playoff roster consideration: Coleman, Chavez and, possibly, Hernandez.
I totally agree Hernandez has not done enough to earn a playoff spot.
I wouldn’t write off Quique, whose versatility could be useful. His offense, though, has really suffered.
Bats are taking the night off as well.
But they HAVE had the ability to do nothing for most of the game, then come alive in time to win.
A former boss and always-friend once described my work day in similar terms.
C’mon, Josh!
Love how we are all basically taking the night off. After the sustained and ultimately successful push to clinch (and taking 6 out of 7 at home to do it!) – I guess we are feeling a bit drained ourselves.
No Vin in SD and the division sown up makes for a lot less drama! Not even the race for HFA really captures my attention tonight.
But nice on radio, Charlie and Mo talking about the tributes to Vin.
Nothing Steiner says sounds “nice.” It’s always irritating.
We vets need to rest, Dave
That’s a fine howdy-do.
Let’s use up all bad innings by Monday.
Snakes blow lead, so Nats stay one game ahead of Dodgers, but https://twitter.com/CSNNationals/status/780887347630145537

Dave won’t like this, but Urias now scheduled to start on Thursday. With none of the vets now starting a game for the rest of the season looks like they will not be candidates for the playoffs.
Confirmed it’s Urias on Thursday. Hill, Kershaw and Maeda finish off the season in SF.
I realize the coaching staff, trainers and front office are all way more knowledgeable than I am on Urias’ short and long term health. I guess I still worry that – after 3 years of being controlled and cautious – they are now throwing caution to the wind and over extending his innings.
Big blow to the Nats. Is Harper injured as well? Ramos nixed a three year $30 million extension and is an FA. We begin the night one game behind them.
X-Rays negative on Harper’s thumb. He’ll be back by the playoffs.
Boswell on Nat injuries. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/once-again-injuries-threaten-to-haunt-the-nationals-in-october/2016/09/27/45456f4c-84b6-11e6-92c2-14b64f3d453f_story.html
I understand that Murphy’s also on the shelf at present.
