  1. Robles seems to have revived his career somewhat. Recall back in the day when he was the Nats top prospect over Soto. Never did much, but hung around when both Harper and then Soto left DC.

  2. Spent the last 10 days hanging out in Ottawa and then Calgary. In US parlance that is like Washington DC and Phoenix – a fit geographically and probably politically as well.

  3. Want Dodgers to win but hard to root against the M’s as they try to catch the Trashy Houston team.

  4. Everyone noticed that Barnes got hit by a backswing last night and assumed a concussion, but in fact he a broken toe.

2004 Pitching a perfect bottom of the ninth inning, John Smoltz establishes the franchise record with his 142nd save in a Braves uniform. The right-handed reliever surpasses Gene Garber as Atlanta beat the Dodgers in Los Angeles, 6-5.

2008 The Dodgers reacquired Greg Maddux (6-9, 3.99) from the Padres for cash and two minor leaguers to be named or an additional monetary sum.
