Fryers blow an opportunity, still trail Rox 6-3 after 5-1/2.
Thankfully Kiermaier was playing CF and not Pages.
Banda's been good, but not so much lately.
Too many innings remaining.
Too many innings on our bullpen.
Rats!!
¡Miércoles en viernes!
Strike three, Ump. Especially with your zone today.
As I said below, we need Scoop calling balls and strikes.
Wrobleski in line for first MLB win if…
Rox still lead 6-3 after 3-1/2.
KK acquisition looking good. The bat!?
Kiermaier appears to want to go out in style.
Any way we keep him after the injured position players return?
Pages has options.
They can option Pages. Ahmed is probably the first to go. Heyward is on thin ice.
Send Pages down.
Much higher defensive value than Pages.
For starters, but a crunch of versatile inf/out players to be dealt with. Heyward?
A Krispy Kiermaier.
Scoop! You still with us?
Kevin!!!!!
Tie game! Miggy RBI!
Betts 7-for-18 with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs since his return.
Great hustle by Teo. He almost beat that throw!
Mook blast!
Mookie!!! We needed that!
No, you must be kidding!
Old friend Jonny De Luca scores winning run.
Devil Rays sting Snakes 5-4 on a walkoff.
Dbacks lost.
We aren’t hitting on any cylinders.
I need to take the weekend off for my mental health.
I’ve had a busy week with grandkids and such, which has helped.
Good for you. My daughter, who lives in the Bay Area, is in her sixth day of Covid. She was supposed to visit us this weekend.
Oh I’m sorry. It’s everywhere these days.
A friend who visited us caught it on her flight back east, but she's OK now.
Wow, this is really getting depressing.
Rox extend lead over Fryers to 6-2, bottom of second.
Devil Rays blow lead, now tied 4-4.
On a two-run homer with two outs by Corbin Carroll in the top of the 9th.
My memory fails me, but when was the last time we gained a full game on both the Diamondbacks and the Padres on the same day?
April?
Mookie fielded that like Alfonso Soriano, though he actually needed to leap.
Not feeling too confident with Justin today.
Teo has more glove than advertised.
I fear I have to say Wrobleski is not wready.
Yep.
Rockies get out of the jam!
Fryers fail!
One out for Padres.
Snakes leading underperforiming Devil Rays 2-1 after 7-1/2. Three errors undercut old friend Pepiot.
We’d better sharpen our game up.
Fryers failed to score in Denver.
He kills us.
Even when he can’t hit, he hits us.
In his sleep.
Bloody Goldie
There goes that lead.
Dodgers' Cuban OF is Pages (pa-hays). Redbirds' Venezuelan catcher is Pagés (Pa-HESS).
Guys who pushed Mookie back to outfield remain hot.
Ohtani is hitting .210 — 21-for-100 — in the last 30 days before tonight.
We need this slump to stop.
It just kept carrying.
Lux slam!
A 1/4 slam…
What am I missing?
1/4 grand.
Will cannon
Glasnow to the IL with "elbow tendinitis."
Speculation is this is just precautionary to give him rest for the stretch run. Geez, I sure hope so.
Gee, I sure hope so. I am going to the bullpen now to loosen up.
We need your arm, Scoop!
Actually, we need you calling balls and strikes.

1950 At the Polo Grounds, Hank Thompson's two inside-the-park home runs off Don Bankhead and Carl Erskine contribute to the Giants' 16-7 drubbing of the Dodgers. The 24-year-old third baseman will hit 129 round-trippers in his 9-year career, three of which will be of the IPHR variety.
1951 At Dunn Field in Elmira (NY), Dodger farm hand Don Zimmer marries Soot Bauerle, whom he had started dating in tenth grade, under a canopy of bats at home plate. Their storied marriage will last for over sixty-two years until Zim passes away due to heart and kidney failure in 2014 at the age of 83.

1964 St. Louis outfielder Curt Flood collects eight consecutive hits during a doubleheader against Dodgers pitching. The Cardinals split the twin bill in Los Angeles, losing the opener to Sandy Koufax, 3-0, but take the nightcap when Curt Simmons tosses a six-hitter to give the Redbirds a 4-0 victory.
2020 Keibert Ruiz becomes the seventh player in the 131-year history of the Dodgers to homer in his first major league at-bat and the first since Garey Ingram accomplished the feat in 1994. On his first swing, the 22-year-old Venezuelan catcher deposits Julio Teheran's 1-1 fastball over the right-field fence in the team's 8-3 victory at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
The only baseball that I ever got at an MLB game occurred during the second game of the 1964 twinbill. It was a foul ball hit by the Cards' Charlie James off the Dodgers' Larry Miller, who was in his only season with the Dodgers. My best friend's father had box seats between home and first and took his two sons and me. Miller went 4-8 with an ERA of 4.18, but had gone 8-0 and 1.68 at Albuquerque, which was then a Double-A team in the Texas League. Miller carried a large red bandana in a back pocket and would use it to wipe the sweat off his face. In shutting out the Cards in the first game, Koufax improved to 19-5 in only 29 starts, but the club was in seventh place in the then-10-team league and 12.5 games out of first. Koufax had severe arthritis and was shut down for the rest of the season, so he missed another 20-win season by one game.
Rox now leading 7-3 with two down in seventh, Fryers threaten but get nothing.
Rox lead 6-3 after five. No sure thing would be an understatement. Rox change to rookie reliever.
C’mon, Miggy.
You're a past person, apparently.
Ha! I was typing it while heck was batting.
Devil Rays now lead Snakes 4-2 lead Snakes after eight.
Rockies up 4-0.
Break out a Coors? Oh wait, make that 4-2.
Meanwhile, Padres have bases loaded w no outs in top of the first.

Thank you, Rockies!
Fryers lose, and Dodgers gain on both them and Snakes.
This one really felt important to win.
Yes it did.
Hold on Rockies.
Doc did a good job with the pen today.
Kopech is worth his weight in kopecks. He’s good to rush in when needed.
Best deadline acquisition?
He and KK. Both winners.
Can’t argue with that assessment.
Yes!
Kopech!!! Woo-HOO!!!
Whew. Big win. We needed this one badly.
Great futuring!
Uno mas
Maybe so. Especially if we have Mookie to lead off.
Shohei not seeing the ball well at all.
Performing as if he were still playing for the Angles.
Time to give him a day off?
Rest him or move him down in the order. Let Lux leadoff.
