Both Yamamoto and right-hander Michael Grove (right intercostal strain) were placed on the 15-day IL ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Royals at Dodger Stadium. As the corresponding moves, the Dodgers recalled right-hander J.P. Feyereisen and selected the contract of right-hander Michael Petersen from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Oh that’s not good. Mookie is hit and hurt

Per Eric, Yamamoto has a strained rotator cuff.
How serious is that?
They talked like it just needed rest. A couple of weeks of not throwing. So I assume it is minor. No structural damage.
Just heard on MLB Tonight. It's a fracture. Surgery not needed. Probably out 6 to 8 weeks.
Dodgers, only team in NL West above .500, have an 8-game lead now.
How costly was this victory? Won’t know for a day or two.
Woo-HOO! But also, Boo-Hoo (Mookie)
Wah-Ooh!! Nice game. Outstanding effort by Glasnow. Now we wait and hope for the best with Mookie.
Dodgers win, but…
No eyes, no ears. What happened to Mookie?
He got hit in the hand/wrist area on a 98 mph fastball. Hand gets crunched between ball and bat.
Rats. Rojas gonna get more playing time a SS.
That’s awful.
Trade season is going to be interesting. Might need some middle infield help for sure.
And one or two more bats.
I wonder about a very costly, but talented, Francisco Lindor.
I hope not. AF and owners will not take on that contract. And, he is overrated and in decline.
I mean the Mets would have to thrown in some $ for sure. But I think Lindor would perk up outside of that franchise.
Lindor or Bichette?
Bichette easily. I am happy with Rojas. We have bigger needs in the outfield and bench.
Go for Bichette instead.
And then they take out the pitcher.
Didn’t want to face Ohtani again but yeah.
This is terrible news.
So sad.
I hope bones are not broken.
Me too! But hard to imagine he didn’t break something.
Oh no. Mookie hurt.
Glasnow: 85 pitches through 7. Into the 8th?
Back to back!!!!
Sho-Boom, Sho-Boom!!
Ohtani now tied for 4th in home runs
Melendez is a thorn this series.
Well, the Puds got their teeth kicked in again today. I love it.
Good work Tyler.
Could use a double play here vs Salvi.
Ohtani delivers! Glasnow: 23 pitches through 3 innings.
Dodgers are just not good at getting 2 out base hits with RISP.
With a few exceptions this season, it’s been chronic.
Surprisingly, we are actually batting 5th overall and 2nd in the NL with RISP with 2 outs. I just looked it up.
Wow. I am surprised.
Seems like no team is having a good year with RISP and 2 outs this season. We are aware of it with the Dodgers because we follow them so keenly.
Just curious where you looked it up? Baseball reference? Or somewhere else?
baseball-reference.com and statmuse. I was not familiar with the latter.
Yamamoto to the IL. Hope it is not serious.
Happy Father’s Day to one and all.
And a Happy Father's Day to you as well.
Ohtani is in a 15-for-77 stretch. That’s a 195 clip.
Smith kills the rally with an inning/ending DP. The way we’ve been going, not a surprise.
Ain't that the truth. Sigh.
