Game 119, 2016

Dodgers at Phillies, 4:05PM PT, TV: SPNLA, CSN-P

Veteran Scott Kazmir (9-6, 4.44 ERA) pitches for the Dodgers and rookie Jake Thompson (1-1, 8.68 ERA) goes for the Phillies. Kazmir’s last start was a quality one in which he took the loss; he left with two men on and the bullpen gave up a home run to score them. This will be Thompson’s third big league start; in his first one he went 4 1/3 innings against the Padres and gave up seven runs, and in his second he went five innings and gave up three runs.

  1. Beautiful swing by Gonzo. Maybe he heard me say last night that I didn’t think he would get to 20 HR’s.

    • I think historically his power has shown itself in spurts. So it is not that much of a long shot for him to reach 20 at least.

      • Hey Bob. I not trying to be obstinate here. I wonder though if historically most hitters hit their home runs in spurts. They get hot for a week or three where they are seeing the ball well. And then they tail of for a while before cycling back to hot.

        • Believe Jon had a post on this earlier in the year. Agon tends to the extreme and hits them in bunches.
