Pirates at Dodgers, 1:05PM PT, TV: FS1, SPNLA, ROOTSPIT
Brandon McCarthy (2-2, 3.00 ERA) goes for the Dodgers and Gerrit Cole (7-7, 2.94 ERA) goes for the Buccos. McCarthy hopes he’s solved the mysterious loss of control he’s exhibited over the last three games he’s started. Cole had a rough game his last time out against the Reds, but he’s 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA in his only two career starts at Dodger Stadium.
Chase Utley had made 409 plate appearances this season entering Friday’s game and had not hit into a double play in even one of them.
Lineup:
Today's Dodger lineup vs. Pirates:

Seager SS
Turner 3B
Reddick RF
González 1B

Here’s a belated: We win!
Just checking in after a busy afternoon. What a long game.
It had both tense and tedious moments, sometimes simultaneously.
Hurray!
Harder than it needed to be there in the 9th, but the result was good.
Woo-HOO!!!!
Joc has been hitting very well of late. Lots of extra base hits.
He finally got back to .250 after todays game assuming he doesn’t hit again, hopefullly he doesn’t hit again today.
And Seager had his 41st multi-hit game, and Gonzalez’s average is back up to .298 or so,
Hitting ball very hard the other way, making much better contact.
Dodgers have scored in six straight innings.
Joc sock!
Joc jack!
Seager and Joc!
Skin of our teeth. I hope.

No sign of this on IMDB. Do you recommend it?
This game has a bit of everything. Hope the Dodgers can hang on. I’m heading out for dinner and will check in when I can.
You dine very early.
Going to a special festival evening. Lots of eating throughout the night!
I immediately thought he was safe, but I can’t fault the umpire on a hair’s-breadth play.
Worth reviewing
Worth reviewing?
Before seeing the slo-mo, which was definitive.
Polanco with all sorts of trouble out there.
Nice by Julio.
Nifty play by Gonzo.
This is a crazy one today.
You misspelled “sloppy.”
Once again, enough hits not translating into enough runs.
Got it!
Need this third out, please.
Urias getting his work this year.
I wonder why. They kept saying they were going to limit his innings this season, but then they keep throwing him out there.
Desperation?
I hope not. If they ruin his arm forever just for this season’s expediency they will have done exactly what they said they were trying very hard not to do.
Where is he (Urias) in total innings pitched versus the limit they said they would hold to?
48 + in the big leagues. 45 in the minors,
He should probably max out around 115 or so innings.
He’s now exceeded the most he’s ever thrown in a season…87 IP in 2014.

Hmm, I thought he had thrown 90+ innings before. Well, then maybe he should max out at around 110.
Exactly.
Did McCarthy show any injury or was it just one more bad outing?
Bad outing. Couldn’t locate his fastball especially, but looked pretty lost.
3rd or 4th in a row then.
He looks very discouraged and downtrodden on the bench. I feel for him.
Now saying he has a hip injury…
Wow, already in our beleaguered bullpen. Again.
3-1 Pit. And they have left 6 on base through 2 innings. So it could be a lot worse.
3-2. But we are struggling, for sure.
Not good. I think we need more pitchers. Time to bring up JDL.
That was a very full inning for McCarthy. 3 walks, 1 hit batter and 2 k’s. Fortunately only 1-0 Pit.
You misspelled “ugly.” He was also lucky.
Is Yogi Berra calling the Yanqui games? When rookie callup Tyler Austin homered in first AB today, the commentary was “What an indoctrination!”
