Dodgers at Rockies, 5:40PM PT, TV: SPNLA, ROOTRM
Kenta Maeda (9-7, 3.23 ERA) takes the mound for the Dodgers hoping to salvage one game from this series. He’ll face the Rockies’ Tyler Chatwood (10-6, 3.50 ERA). Chatwood’s made two starts against the Dodgers; he gave up three runs in only four innings the first time out but one run on only one hit over eight innings in his second game against them.

With that victory, we have reached the two-thirds point of the season.
Last 54. Can we win 30 or 32 games? That would probs get us into the playoffs.
Tough row to hoe without Clayton. The FO’s depth approach certainly being tested. Anderson to the rescue!?
With a healthy Kershaw, the Dodgers would probably lead the division by now. I’m cautiously optimistic he’ll be back at month’s end, but maybe Rich Hill can pick up the slack? The Dodgers have loads of young starting talent, but it’s not quite ready to step in.
We win!
Woo-HOO!!!
Not great pitches but gets the k anyway.
Here’s hoping for Dodger handshakes and hugs after Kenley finishes pitching.
Reddick saving his first Dodger hit for LA apparently.
Blanton is a really smart pitcher.
Good inning.
Might have had Kenley pitch to these guys.
I’d sooner see Lipitor than Blanton here.
Does he have the heart to pitch in Colorado?
It worked out, though.
Unfortunate.
Frustrating inning.
Kendrick was risky. Joc was dumb.
He’s not the wisest base runner.
I wonder if the first base coach had time to tell him to run. Also, it took a bad throw from CF to put Arenado in position to throw that quickly to first. The CF throw was off line and an accurate throw would have at least made Arenado make a tag on Kendrick, making Joc safe at second.
I’m okay with runners trying to take that extra base, especially when an outfielder goes for the front runner.
Good points.
A good throw woulda had Howie.
Phew.
Agreed!
Justin! (Baez as ex 3rd baseman appreciated that one)
Inspired by Arenado!
Whoops! Nice try Ynoa.
Reddick looks as good against lefties as his average is against them.
Nice job by Baez. He will pitch the 7th as well, I guess.
Might have gone one more batter with Maeda. Give him a chance to finish the inning.
Why pull Maeda?
96 pitches, I guess.
Seager just got under that one.
He’s had three solid hits, but only one made it all the way out.
Just tuning in. This game is going much better than the last two!
Yazmani triple! Nice.
His first in about 2 years apparently.
AGon gets an infield hit?
And just rolled over home plate to score.
He appears to have taken sliding lessons from Puig.
Tied up by Seager blast.
C’mon, Maeda. Let’s get out of this inning with only 2.
Is the 4th traditionally a problem inning for Maeda? Can’t remember.
4th inning is actually his best. Worst is the 7th followed by 6th and 5th. This is probably not very comforting.
I am officially ready to be away from Coors Field.
Apparently you don’t need a spleen to hit a HR.
Chase with the nice leap and grab.
Down goes Stewart, up comes Dayton
That Rox fan should be ejected. Grandal woulda scored easily.
He was.
I didn’t see that, the malamute was telling me he needed a carrot.
Did he say “Eh, what’s up Doc?”
It was more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4AG5JMmlRk
Other than the eyes, that head and face looks exactly like a Husky.
No similarities.
I thought this was some sort of metaphor. But you meant an actual
malamute and an actual carrot?
The Fillies did their part the past couple days, but couldn’t keep it up. Today, the Dodgers will have to help themselves.
