Game 95, 2014

Padres at Dodgers, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA, FSSD

Poor Dan Haren (8-5, 4.06 ERA). He has to follow Kershaw in the rotation, and he invariably suffers by comparison. He’s kept the Dodgers in most of the games he’s started, though, and for a fifth starter that’s all that one can reasonably ask. The Padres send out rookie right-hander Jesse Hahn, who is 4-2 with a 2.34 ERA in six starts this season.

  1. What is MLBtv? Can I watch the Dodgers on my Samsung Galaxy? (With subscription, of course) How about on my Dish Hopper? This in spite of me being almost grateful to TWC for making it impossible to watch that disappointing team. I guess I still have hope…

    • Depending on where you live, you can watch all Dodger games (and other teams, but there are local blackouts). I watch regularly on my iPad and Apple TV, but you can also use your normal computer. Never heard of a Dish Hopper – is that a kitchen appliance?

  2. That eighth inning. 2nd and 3rd, none out, no runs. As Orel and Nomar said in the post-game analysis, we’ve seen this before, in April and May.

    • Yesterday.
It’s too common with this team.
I guess I could be optimistic and say that when they start hitting in those situations, they will really start winning.
But more of the same: Haran gives up too many runs . . . Dodger batters waste too many opportunities.

  3. Given Beckett’s injury and Haren’s decline, I expect we will trade for some starting pitching real soon, giving up two or more good prospects in the process.

  4. Think Haren is just happy to start in DS, where he has a 2.96 ERA and has given up only 7 dingers compared to 11 on the road.
