Game 109, 2014

Braves at Dodgers, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA

Mr. Kershaw brings his 12-2, 1.76 ERA record to the hill tonight to face right-hander Julio Teheran and his 10-6, 2.71 ERA record. He missed his spots the other night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, but I imagine he’ll do a little better tonight.

Here’s the lineup:

  1. Kershaw lowered his league-leading ERA from 1.76 to 1.71 tonight, raised his league-leading winning percentage from .857 to .867, and increased his league-leading complete-game total from four to five. His next scheduled start is Tuesday at home vs. the Angels.

  2. Anyone know what Zack’s pitch count was last night?
I bet he argues HARD to stay in next time.

    • Shoulda been eight-hitter shutout. Actually mighta been fewer hits – several balls fell in front of Puig, who may have been playing too deep. Unfamiliarity with position.

  3. Darn!
Glad to hear Kersh was keeping warm . . . I wondered why League didn’t do that when I was there several weeks ago.

  4. As shakey as Dee looked at SS, he seems so solid at second base in such a short time.

  5. With our bats showing a bit more signs of life and if both Haren and Beckett can rediscover some of their early season form, I think we are going to be OK

      • No, I’m a bit worried I would watch/follow it even more than I do now 🙂

          • It’s more balancing around home and family time and work etc ( I know I couldn’t resist)

    • Tough to expect Beckett and Haren return to early season form. Seems likely that we will still need to go at least for a 4 or 5 in the market. More may become available as playoff hopes diminish for more teams. .

  6. Just saw vision of the great play by Gordon in the 4th (that was amazing!)

  7. Just tuned in to the game. 1) It’s great we are leading
    2) It’s great that Puig has homered again
