Phillies v. Dodgers, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA
It’s not Curt Schilling’s bloody sock, but A. J. Burnett’s going to pitch for the Phillies tonight with an inguinal hernia. I had one of those for eight years before finding time to get it repaired, so I don’t think he’s risking much by pitching with it. He’s 0-1 with a 2.74 ERA so far this season.
The Dodgers counter with Hyun-Jin Ryu, who’s 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA. Here’s a startling tidbit: “Ryu has made five starts this season, and four have been scoreless. He allowed eight runs in two innings April 4 against the Giants, but otherwise has not allowed a run in 26 innings.”

“Sorry, I couldn’t handle the keyboard for a minute, Hanley cut right in front of me.
We almost collided.”
Sincerely,
Carl Crawford 🙂
Since the Blue can’t play AZ all the time, something’s gotta improve. Let’s hope it’s just the flu bug dragging everyone down.
Or maybe Guerrero will be the ’14 spark Puig.
Even Kersh returning won’t necessarily mean the defense will improve . . . and we know they didn’t give him much run support last year.
but remarkably we still lead the West. This feels a bit like when we were coming last part the way through last year.
Problem with bringing up Guerrero would be that the only current spark (Gordon) would have to be put on the bench. At this point, I don’t see it happening.
We didn’t deserve this one.
One error per game doesn’t make for a winning team.
And they’re exceeding that, I believe.
Also, I wish Hanley wouldn’t double-clutch every throw.
Too many E’s.
Too many K’s.
= not many W’s.
Good math.
Wow. Just… wow. Hanley should have stayed back. Embarrassing defense. Maybe Howell can keep …never mind.
Glad Ryu doesn’t get an L.
Now let’s get the W!
Nice Kenley, now it’s walkoff time
How cd. FedEx not have put the bat on the ball?
Easier to say than do.
So very true.
Dee being Dee.
He is exciting
So, are you watching these games, John?
just following on gameday occasionally around doing other tasks at home
groundhog day with Burnett and Revere
Rockies win again
we are very lucky today
trouble brewing
Nice recovery from 2 on and none out
I expect the defense will come around, but it’d be nice to see it soon, especially when they’re not hitting much.
They seem to be hitting in bunches during the odd game here or there, but not putting it all together onsistantly
Is “onsistantly” an Australianism?
We’re a lazy bunch and often drop the “c” before words 🙂
Ryu makes it moot . . . but took all those extra pitches to do it.
Defense was a strong point last year, wasn’t it?
At least stronger than this.
Pitching-rich Rox blanking the Gnats 1-0 through four.
