2. My Mother-in-Law with, I believe, Preacher Roe and Arky Vaughan Spring Training in the Dominican Republic 1948.

   • My word was she short!

     • Yep, then again Preacher was 6’2″ and Arky 5’10”.

3. Cashman of NYY halfway made a pitch for Chipper to unretire and don pinstripes. (Don’t think I even knew Chipper’s real name is Larry until this piece.)

   Ain’t a gonna happen, as Cashman and about everybody else would expect.

   BUT… if NYY are all that desperate for a 3B, the Dodgers could fill the void. Future Yankee even hit a 3-run HR the other day. (Maybe the last for a long, long time, but hey….)

   C’mon, Yanks. Make it happen. Can’t miss. (Oops…shouldn’t put “can’t miss” and he who shall not be named in the same sentence.)
