Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

In case you’re wondering, the post title is a quote from the longtime broadcaster of Cubs games, Harry Caray. He used to screech that at the end of games when the Cubbies ended up on the right side of the run totals.

It’s true. Down 3 games to 1 in the World Series to the Cleveland Indians, the Cubs came from behind tonight to stave off elimination and ensure at least one more game will be played, that in the Indians’ home park in Cleveland on Tuesday night. The final score was 3-2 and it was a tight game throughout. The Cubs used their 100-mph pitcher Aroldis Chapman for 2 2/3 innings to nail down the win. That was his longest outing of the season, and he’s apparently expressed doubt about going more than one inning in the past. Tonight he did, and he locked the Indians down.

Good. I want baseball to go on as long as it can, which means ideally a seven-game World Series. I’m rooting for the Cubs on Tuesday and then for the Indians in Game Seven.
