I knew it was coming, but…

We all had to know that the moment Hillary announced her candidacy the sexist remarks wouldn’t be far behind, but I don’t think anyone expected them to be as nasty and sneering as the ones the proud Republican party’s nominee is throwing at her.

“Hillary was an enabler and she treated these women horribly. Just remember this,” Trump said during a campaign event on Saturday. “And some of those women were destroyed, not by (Bill Clinton), but by the way Hillary Clinton treated them after it went down.”

[snip]

It’s important to remember the context of this, as well, namely that Trump himself is a famous adulterer. He almost certainly has ulterior motives for his apparent belief that a woman who is being cheated on should suffer in silence.

Since women are some 53% of the population, it seems like a damn fool way to try to win votes and influence people.

  1. And what, one wonders, is the appropriate attitude and action toward women who were trying to fool around with her husband? I’ve never had to deal with the situation, but frankly, if some of these women were “destroyed,” it was a consequence of their own actions.
