Gaffe extraordinaire!

Michael Kinsley once said this: “A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth – some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.”

Ladies and germs, I give you Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina, a lady who hates her own poor citizens so much she refused to expand Medicaid, saying her state “will not expand Medicaid. Ever.” One wonders if she plans to remain in office till the end of time, but let’s assume she meant “while I’m in office.” She also hates labor unions: “We discourage any companies that have unions from wanting to come to South Carolina because we don’t want to taint the water.”

So today she said this.

“It’s scary,” South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who has endorsed Rubio, said on ABC’s “This Week.” She added: “I think what he’ll [Trump] do to the Republican Party is really make us question who we are and what we’re about. And that’s something we don’t want to see happen.”

“And that’s something we don’t want to see happen.” Boy howdy, lady, your party surely needs to look inside itself and recognize why Trump is doing so well with its voters. The racism that they exhibit, the bigotry, the know-nothing-ism, it’s all a result of your party leaders cultivating those people for years. Reap the whirlwind, all of you.
