We had pizza for dinner this evening. I had a meat eater’s special: pepperoni, sausage, peppers, mushrooms and onions. Mom had a peppers, mushrooms, spinach and olive pizza with Alfredo sauce.

Is Saturday night the new pizza night?
When I was a kid, Friday nights were for pizza. Though not often in our house. But some of my friends, their family had pizza nearly every Friday.
But nowadays, my spouse & I have pizza usually on a Saturday night, maybe once a month.
Last year I grew tomatoes in the garden, and we got such a crop, that I wound up making LOTS of tomato basil sauce with a crock pot recipe. I hadn’t intended it, but it turned out to be too pasty for pasta sauce, but it was perfect for pizza. I missed that now in retrospect not having grown tomatoes this past season.
Saturday’s usually burgers, steaks, tri-tip roast or (occasionally) lamb chops night, but Mom had a filling replaced, so food that didn’t need to be ripped or torn seemed indicated. 😉
We have no garden, unfortunately. We do have a humongous mango tree and the neighbor has an avocado tree which we pick from.
