Just to infuriate us further after the defeat of the background check legislation this afternoon, there were more votes in the Senate on gun control after the major one failed.

“Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-TX) NRA-backed proposal to require all states to recognize out-of-state permits for concealed handguns received 57 votes.”

So if Arkansas had concealed carry and one of its citizens wanted to travel to Hawai’i carrying his Glock under his coat, Hawai’i would have had to allow him to do so in Waikiki. And THAT idiocy (where are “states’ rights” in this, Senator? Doesn’t Hawai’i have a right to determine who can carry guns and who can’t?) got more votes in favor than did the proposal for background checks.

This is one effed-up group of politicians right here.
