Tourney Day Two

Bah. I lost two teams I had pegged for the Elite Eight to upsets today: Kansas State lost to LaSalle and Georgetown lost to Florida Gulf Coast.

Georgetown’s loss would be easier to take if I’d ever heard of its conqueror before. Apparently FGCU admitted its first student back in 1997 and now has around 11,000 of them. It’s in South Fort Myers in Southwest Florida just east of I-75.

LaSalle I know about. It’s one of the Big Five Philly schools with Villanova, St. Joseph’s, Temple and Penn.

It’s amazing how quickly your bracket’s ranking can change. At one point this morning I was in the top percentile of all brackets at position number 26,677. Right now it’s in the top 1.3% but ranked at number 103,867.

Update: And now I’m in the top 2.9% and ranked at number 238,732. Thanks so much, UCLA and Notre Dame, for getting blown out by 20 points in your respective games.
