Where IS everything?

There’s nothing quite like walking into the neighborhood used book emporium after a few months of not doing so and discovering the management has flipped the store shelves back-to-front. The CDs all used to be on the right toward the back; now they’re directly in front. The mystery books were on the left toward the front; now they’re in the middle at the back. Even the used records got moved (and I don’t envy anyone that chore — I remember how heavy quantities of albums are).

It gave the word “explore” an entirely different meaning.

  1. When my local supermarket reorganized a few years ago, it took me months to relearn the floor plan. Sometimes I still have no idea where certain items are.

  2. But it’s a good thing that your local book store is still open. Just imagine the thrill of exploring your store.
