Hobbits and dwarves and wizards, oh my!

I went to see The Hobbit in a matinee show today. Supposedly the movie was to start at noon, but it didn’t actually start till about 12:20 PM; it had about six or eight previews first. Good thing, since I didn’t get into my seat until about 12:10 PM.

I haven’t read the book in a long time, so I wasn’t offended by the padding of battle scenes and the appearance of Azog the One-Handed. If all you’re looking for is a good adventure, this movie is just fine, although 2:46 is a long time to sit in a theater seat.

When does part two come out?

  1. 2D. I’ve never seen a movie in 3D and am not sure I want to. I probably will someday, but not yet. It’s a bias against possibly getting dizzy in a movie theater.

  2. My reaction pretty much exactly. I have poor vision and avoid 3D if at all possible. I’m also wondering about part 2.
