Louisiana’s Governor Jindal’s gave a speech the other night attempting to persuade his party that it has to stop being the stupid party. Think Progress notes that he should perhaps look within himself and at his policies before preaching to a broader audience:

• He permits Louisiana schools to teach creationism.
• He allows state employees to be fired for being gay.
• He has signed bills intended to intimidate women seeking abortions.
• He seeks to cut taxes dramatically for the wealthy and increase taxes for everyone else.
• He refuses to provide health care for Louisiana’s poorest.

None of those policies have much appeal to the mainstream citizens of his state.
