A potential new member of the household showed up on Christmas Day and hasn’t left. Finally at 2:00pm today I broke down and gave it some dry food and water. It just scarfed up an entire salad plate full of kibble, so despite its well-fed look it was pretty hungry.

We’ve reported it to the Humane Society and I’ve posted the pictures on Craigslist as well as FB and G+. Other than walking the hills around here looking for posters on telephone poles I don’t know what else to do.
Once you feed it, it’s inhumane to stop. Congratulations on your new addition!
Yep. I’m not a cat person (significant allergies), but the rule is that once you feed it, it’s yours.
Is he/she friendly enough to catch? You can try taking him/her to a local vet and seeing if he/she has a ID chip. Usually, they’ll do the scan for no charge.
Friendly enough to catch? It’s underfoot every three minutes if I’m standing up! This animal has been somebody’s pet before, I’m convinced.
