Cri de coeur?

Oh boy, does this ever ring true. It’s an epistle to the Corinthians political press from one of their own.

Mainstream media outlets don’t want to look partisan, so they ignore the BS hidden in plain sight, the hypocrisy and dishonesty that defines the modern Republican Party. I’m old enough to remember when Republicans insisted that anyone who said they wanted to cut Medicare was a demagogue, because I’m more than three weeks old.

One of the things that astonishes any objective news reader who pays attention is how wedded to the “both sides do it” concept reporters are. It’s infuriating. 97% of scientists agree that climate change is upon us and is due to human interaction with the environment, and yet you’ll always find a quote from a denier in any article about the subject.

In this case it’s Michael Grunwald at “Time” who’s fed up. He probably has a little more sway with his fellow journalists than the average member of the public does, so maybe it’ll persuade at least one reporter at Politico or the NYT or the WaPo that it’s okay to say in a piece “that’s wrong, and furthermore the guy who said it knows it’s wrong.”

I am not holding my breath.
