Style points?

I’m not the first and I won’t be the last to ask this, but when a Planned Parenthood clinic in Grand Chute, WI is firebombed, why do the media and the cops avoid using the word “terrorism?” The closest this WaPo journalist can come is as follows:

Historically, the number of antiabortion arsons has been declining. But over the past few months, there has been a spate of firebombings that appear to fit into the antiabortion violence category.

Really? “Antiabortion violence?”

Sheesh. It’s as if there’s an unwritten code in the style manuals: “Terrorism is only committed by foreigners or people with Arabic names.”

Fortunately, this time no one was injured, and the cops and the FBI are investigating.

  1. Didn’t you get the memo? Americans are not terrorists, unless they are like those radical lefty pinko types (can’t think of the name, but the group that is targeting research labs over animal abuses). The people who bombed the Planned Parenthood clinic in the Appleton area are right-standing people who are being driven by an ideology that says that they are defending an unborn life. Not that they really care about that person after he/she is born…
