Holy crap, again?

Back here I bemoaned the demise of yet another coffee maker. I said then “New one purchased in July 2006. I replaced it in January 2008. It’s now July 2009.”

Here it is January 2012 and the coffee pot I bought in ’09 gave up the ghost this morning. I guess I should be pleased it lasted two-and-a-half years, huh?

Note: my friend Cynical Ju suggested I was foolish to buy low-end coffeemakers and said the following at Facebook: “If it lasts more than 2 years, I’ll buy you its replacement when it dies.”

I don’t intend to hold her to that, but it will be fun to remind her of this rash and intemperate statement when the inevitable happens.

  1. My husband uses a stainless steel (because he broke 3 glass ones) French press with no moving and no plug. We boil the water for coffee and tea in a kettle on the stove.

  2. I might have been under the influence of OTC cold meds at the time, but I stand behind the offer/challenge. I also trust you to be truthful and not secretly replace this one in a year without mentioning it. 😉
