Snakes bite Bucs, who led 4-0 at one point with ace Skenes on the bound, from behind.
On the bright side, Trashtros fail into ocean on liftoff, stung 1-0 by Devil Rays.
Last night my daughter and her boyfriend invited me to the game, but I'd already made arrangements to watch it at an old softball teammate's place. He's an A's fan, but we both loathe Gnats.
Today's a blackout, so I'll be watching Gameday and listening to the radio feed.
Didn’t your taxes pay for that stadium? You should have gone.
We refuse to contribute a penny to John Fisher, the worst owner since Frank McCourt.
Must have been around 25k Dodger fans there last night.
My daughter texted "The crowd here is overwhelmingly blue."
The “worst owner” competition.
Who gets the gold?
Arte Moreno's also in the running.

Great use of bullpen by Roberts.
Great performances by bullpen.
He’s also been better with the starters the past two games. No complaints for once.
He left in the vet starter in a tight situation (I wouldn’t have, but whatever) and took out a rookie is a somewhat similar situation, This has been his approach as usual. Better results for sure.
Likely to need the bullpen quite a bit v. Fillies.
Indeed, though they were on a six game losing streak until yesterday. (Imagine what it would be like around here if we lost six in a row!). Like us, they had a losing July and so far a losing August.
Seemed like the same approach as of late. Don’t take the starter out too late and bring in your better relievers even though relatively early in the game.
Bullpen was immaculate.
Hey, hey, hey!
How sweet it is!
Woo-HOO!!!
One more strike please
Well played by Lux.
He’s a new man.
Go Banda go!
White Six lost their 20th in a row today.
More than eight men out…
Neither Honey nor Kopech.
Let’s hope he doesn’t get another chance.
Kiermaier assured that Shohei doesn't bat.
Believe that it was ump and Sam who conspired to keep Ohtani from appearing at the plate
If Kiermaier doesn't run, Shohei bats.
Yes, watching again I agree.
Come on Sam, we want Ohtani!
Groan. The CS cost Ohtani an AB.
Of course, if he had been successful, they would have walked Ohtani
I think he would have been safe. What do you think?
Close, probably not enough evidence to overturn.
Jobbed at second?
Kiermaier reaches base?
And then undoes it.
Very briefly.
Dodgers playing Rent-A-Rosario.
He was good down the stretch last year.
The classic WBBsAs counter perspective.
Nelson taking on Fisher and MLB.
Please tell me more. I am watching the A’s broadcast.
Perhaps for Kopech?
And Banda it is.
Or if we get a bunch here, maybe Quique!
Insurance for Honey?
Vesia’s ERA:
2023: 4.35.
2024: 1.88
Vesia in form.
That sun must be brutal.
Time for Shohei to HR
Looks like the ninth now.
Every third game is the rate, but glad if he gets one here.
Got that one wrong. He is 3-for-25.
Roberts acted like he didn't want to take Ryan out but still did.
River didn’t give him much of a choice with non-competitive pitch to that last batter in a critical situation.
Nope. Pitch count at 75 but he looked tired.
Still a respectable outing.
Rallies didn't score any runs. Just gave up the quick score home run.
Indeed. He was supposed to be up for a spot start, but not going back down anytime soon.
Wrobleski, Ryan, and Knack have been more ready than expected. Nice to have depth. I am sure teams were asking about them at trading deadline.
That’s come and gone. Figured we might have lost a couple of them, but cost for rental was very reasonable.
These two out in 5th inning starter pulls have not worked out well in July.
August is without a Vulture.
Dodgers have their own Ryan. May he have as many pitches in him as the other Ryan
Yeah, Biggio wasn’t hanging around the bag like he thought he was safe.
No eyes here.
Yeah, figured you didn’t see that tell.
Safe by a mile. Oh wait, bad slide.
Biggio RBI!
Who needs windmills? Just send up the Dodger lineup. And yet we’re in the middle in the NL in club strikeouts.
Yep Scoop, as bad as we are, there are a lot of teams worse.
Dueces wild!
2 to 2, 2nd inning, count 2-2.
Makes me miss Vinnie.
Kiermaier is offensively hopeless. I'd sooner see Outman in CF.
As my Romanian landlord once said, "We gotta start again from scratch it."
Oakland not giving up! 2-2 tie.
Ambushed on that one
¡Domingo de miércoles!
Enrique on fire.
¡En fuego!
¡Quique!
Today in Dodgers History
August 4th
1908 In Brooklyn, the last-place Cardinals blank the Brooklyn Superbas, 3-0. The teams use just one ball during the entire Washington Park contest.
1941 Mickey Owens becomes the first catcher to handle three foul pop-ups in one frame. The Brooklyn backstop's third-inning defense contributes to the Dodgers' 11-6 victory over New York at Ebbets Field.
1942 In a military relief game at the Polo Grounds, which will be the last war-time twilight game played, Pee Wee Reese's grand slam in the top of the ninth, which puts the Dodgers up 5-1, doesn't count because of the 9:10 pm government curfew. The game ends up as a 1-1 tie with the Giants.
1948 Ernie Harwell, filling in for Red Barber, recovering from a bleeding ulcer, calls his first major league game as the Dodgers beat the Cubs at Ebbets Field, 5-4. To obtain the future Hall of Fame broadcaster, Brooklyn general manager Branch Rickey trades minor league catcher Cliff Dapper to the Atlanta Crackers.

Kiermaier makes contact!
That sure helps his pitch count.
Tomorrow? https://x.com/ByJackHarris/status/1820200435875271095
Great news for the family!
The kid looks happy.
A big step for recovery.
