On GameDay they are calling all Kike's pitches sliders.
Come on Ohtani. Hit another 9th inning blast.
C’mon Pages. Sac fly at least.
My niece is an A’s fan, although living off the other side of the Bay. She was fond of the stadium. Different for the players given the large foul ground. Also dugouts at field level seem so exposed. Bull pen is just a long row of seats.l and the mound is in foul territory
Yippee!!
Woo-HOO!!!
Dodgers win!
Kiké!!!
Kiké with the quick two! Now he needs one more.
Oh Shohei. Right down the pipe.
Oh Ohtani. Don’t take a call 3rd strike that’s right down the middle.
Unexpected. Who would be crazy enough to throw it down the pipe to him?
Element of surprise? And really what do you have to lose at that point.
Ahmed needs to get on so we can see Ohtani again.
10-0!
And here comes Shohei!
Hmm…maybe feed is lagging
Here’s the secret: I really can tell the future. Don’t tell WBB…
It’s raining runs now!
9-0.
Where’s WBB? Here is the laugher he has long been looking for!
He was watching at a friend's (A's fan) house.
8-0.
I was thinking that as well.
I only thought of it because I knew you were.
Me to my son: It’s 7-0 now
My son: They better win this one then.
No out rally
Will gets involved!!!
7-0!
We have achieved the coveted 5 run lead!
Make that 7!
We finally found our bats!!!
6-0!
Hurray for Will!!!
Mister 30-30
30-30!
You don’t see a 19 game losing streak everyday. Poor White Sox.
Well, they can't blame LaRussa now. LOL
Maybe it’s part of the consequences of throwing the 1919 World Series. The numbers are there to definitely prove it.
As a fan, experienced the Os losing 21 right out of the box.
I recall that one quite vividly – even from all the way here in Winnipeg.
Pages! RBI!
That works! 4-0.
Enrique!
Enjoying this pairing of announcers.
A 1 out rally. How novel!
Kiké!!! RBI!
Smooth, Dave. Smooth.
Before I had a chance to say “Maybe Will will find his…” he popped out on the first pitch.
Kopech. Wowser.
Alexander still uses a rather large mitt. To hide his grip?
Phew! Nice work Jack!
So good.
Don’t let down now with 2 outs!
Thank you for leaving him in, Doc.
Strange for Doc not to pull him here.
Maybe he’s learning.
I would have pulled him and think Doc should have given the situation, pitch count and a batter that had already gotten to him twice, with a like handed reliever ready to go.
Two more force outs at home and I’m all good. Lol
Could definitely use a pop up or strikeout and then a ground ball double play.
Tense
Yikes. Bases loaded and no one out.
Oh oh.
This is not a new insight by any means, but my goodness to the Dodgers have a lot of the same player – CT3, Kiké, Biggio, Rosario, etc.
Multifaceted?
Yes. But also around .200 hitters which can be frustrating at times – like when you have a bunch of them in the starting lineup.
You mean now, cuz most of the have hit during their careers and Rosario is still a feared hitter.
Dang it. Butler did (catch) it.
Unless you throw the ball right at him, Pages is game to swing at just about anything.
All these little 2 out rallies.
Not that long ago it used to be the team brand.
Exactly right.
Hope the bullpen is strong tonight. Probably need 3 good innings – with maybe not a lot of rope to work with.
Too bad. Bat shattered and took away the momentum.
Ah well.
Ok Lux. Do it again!
Thank goodness for the top three hitters…
Shohei hits balls so hard. Even singles.
Lots of pitches for Flaherty. 70 through 4.
He’s a very calm pitcher. I like that about him.
I like that in people in general!!
He says with three exclamation marks.
Jack is as advertised.
I hope Jack is alright.
Jack is nimble, but not quick enough to get out of the way of that one.
Ha!
Not a strikeout pitcher, unless he’s pitching against us.
This is random but I have often wondered what the batting average is for batters who get to bat again to start the next inning after being at the plate at the end of the previous inning.
Is it to the hitters advantage at all because of the pitches they just saw? Or is there no perceivable advantage for either pitcher or batter?
Anyway, as I say – it’s random.
Not helping Will, but not much is! Otherwise I would say yes, an advantage.
Ha! I forgive him.
Lux. Gotta love the aggressiveness. Bat speed and launch angle up and K rate has increased from 20% to 29%, but he is so much more a valuable a hitter.
It’s pretty amazing – the turnaround he has made.
Gavin trying to do a Shohei steal. Unsuccessfully.
Bloops can cut both ways!
Lux makes them pay.
Jack looks good out there

Today in Dodgers History
August 3rd
1959 In the third inning of the second All-Star Game this summer, Yogi Berra's two-run home run off Dodgers right-hander Don Drysdale at the LA Memorial Coliseum proves to be the difference in the American League's 5-3 victory over the Senior Circuit. The home run will be the last hit by a Bronx Bomber in a Midsummer Classic game for 41 years until Derek Jeter goes deep in 2001.
1978 In a 5-4 victory against the Dodgers at Candlestick Park, Giants' first baseman Willie McCovey hits his 504th home run off Don Sutton, establishing him as the National League all-time left-handed home run leader. Southpaw swinger Eddie Mathews had previously led the NL, collecting 503 round-trippers playing for the Braves and Astros, with another nine for Detroit in the American League at the end of his 17-year career.
1997 Jeromy Burnitz, coming off the bench in the Brewers' 6-5 loss to Seattle at County Stadium, homers as a pinch-hitter for the second consecutive time, tying an American League record. The major league mark for consecutive pinch-hit appearances with a home run is three, shared by Lee Lacy (Dodgers – May 2, 6, and 17, 1978) and Del Unser (Phillies – June 30, July 5, and 10, 1979).
2013 The first-place Dodgers set a franchise record, winning their 13th consecutive game on the road with their 3-0 victory over the Cubs in Chicago. The Giants established the National League mark in 1916 when the team won 17 straight games away from the Polo Grounds.
