The Braves have not yet named their starter, while the Phillies are giving the ball to RHP Aaron Nola (11-13, 3.25 ERA).

RHP Spencer Strider (11-5, 2.67 ERA) has now been named as the Braves starter. He’s very possibly the National League Rookie of the Year.

The Dodgers give the ball to RHP Tony Gonsolin (16-1, 2.13 ERA) and the Padres give it to LHP Blake Snell (8-10, 3.38 ERA).

  1. Dodger Cap? Check. OG shiny blue plastic chain with dangling LA? Check. Homemade by my stepson Dodger Sweatshirt? Check. Foamy finger? Check. Blue toenails? Check. Nerves? Check check check.

  2. Poor AB by Muncy. Takes first pitch right down the middle then swings at a pitch a mile out of the strike zone for strike 3.

  3. I guess maybe the baseball deities want the Padres fans to experience one win in their stadium before we break their hearts.

      • I think tomorrow will be a must win game for them whether we win or lose tonight. If we win tomorrow, we go home with our ace going against one of their lesser pitchers.

    • It’s true. In the regular season – these things work themselves out. But in the playoffs you only have a limited number of opportunities / games.

Fortunately, the Dodgers still have a few left. But the clock is ticking…

  4. Snell talks to his catcher in the dugout with his hand over his mouth, cuz that is what he is used to doing.

  5. I’m so nervous I have to do my weights while I watch. I shall return, hopefully when we are up a few.

  6. Good. Machado is out. If I Hear that announcer say “Don’t hit to Manny Machado” one more time…

  7. Dodgers down but certainly not out. This series will come down to the Dodgers finding a way to score with runners on base – and against the Padres bullpen – vs time running out on the season.

  8. Good bench tonight for the Dodgers. Will Smith can PH – and Belli can come in for defence in later innings.
