Game 66, 2021

Phillies at Dodgers, 7:10 PM PDT, TV: MLBN (out-of-market only), NBCSP, SPNLA

The visitors send RHP Spencer Howard (0-1, 4.61 ERA) out to face the Dodgers’ RHP Tony Gonsolin (0-0, 5.40 ERA). Howard has a 2.89 ERA in 9 1/3 innings as a starter this season, while Gonsolin will be making just his second start of the year; his first didn’t go all that well, as he gave up five walks and two hits in just 1 2/3 innings last week against the Pirates.

This date in Dodgers’ history:

  • 2003 After being activated from the disabled list by the Dodgers, first baseman Fred McGriff bats cleanup and goes 2-for-4 in his return against the Padres. It was the Crime Dog’s first trip to the DL during his 18-year career.
  • 2010 After just seven days in the major leagues, Stephen Strasburg is named National League Player of the Week. The Nationals’ right-handed flamethrower starts his career 2-0 with 22 strikeouts, second only to Karl Spooner, who fanned five more batters in his first two major league starts with the Dodgers in 1954.

  1. Hi all. bBabysittkng grandkids again and just got everybody tucked away. We can still win this one, yes?

  2. Save number 328 for Jansen. He passes Fernando Rodney and is 17th all time. He is one behind Francisco Cordero for 16th.

  3. Dodgers better win tonight considering how many breaks the umps have been giving them.

  4. Missing Belli, Max and Seags is a fair bit of fire power out of the lineup.

  5. Seems to have found his footing, but guess they won’t let him get for long

  6. Go Dodgers. Gotta take care of business against the Phils. Not likely to get much help from the D’Backs and Rocks.

    • The Snakes are overdue, and the Gnats scored just three runs in four games in DC. Have confidence! Meanwhile, Rox have taken a 1-0 lead over the Pads in Denver.
