3. Only 3 games between Gnats and us now. Man, the D-backs are slumping. Tight race, and now the Gnats against the Pads at home, while we face the Yankees there? Yikes.

   • Dodgers control their own destiny.
     Didn’t the Padres sweep the Cubs before? Didn’t the Dodgers beat the Cubs 2 out of 3 before? Things CAN go their way — they CAN beat top teams . . . or look miserable against all comers.
     We’ll see what comes out of the crucible of the final weeks of the season . . . before (hopefully) entering the crucible of postseason.
     You know what they say — ‘fasten your seatbelt . . . ‘ Or, prominently in “Sully” (I LOVED it!) — “Brace, brace, brace!”

   • If somebody had guaranteed you this just before the All-Star break, you would have been thrilled to hear it.

4. Greinke is letting us down.

5. Zach gives up another dinger to start the game, to Span of all people! But Snakes come back and tied at one in the 3rd.

   • Snakes ain’t doing us any favors. Trail 5-2 in the seventh.

6. Concerned again by the offense.
   I wrote more, but it’s superfluous.

   I see that Kersh is scheduled to start Weds, so that must mean he’s feeling well . . . anything else mentioned?

7. And suddenly, I’m back to being a huge Greinke fan. Go DBacks.

8. On to NYY, who are on fire right now.

   • On the verge of losing today.

     • Well, that’s to bad. Couldn’t they have waited for the Dodgers to come in before they go and do something like that?

   • Who have, let it be known, won five World Series championships since the Dodgers last won one. That rekindles my Yankee hatred every time I think of it.

     • In my mind, they are public enemy #2, right behind SF.

       • The Yanquis are pure evil.

9. What a stinker of a game.

   • I am going back to bed and pretend that I never got up.

     • I’ve only just woken up, I didn’t miss much I see

10. Donnie showing that he is a tough guy as well.

15. Can we go back to the days when we were conflicted over the Dodgers winning but not pitching perfect games? In retrospect, that was more enjoyable.

16. This offense is suddenly inconsistent.

    • Actually, it’s been consistently bad throughout this game.

    • It’s constantly inconsistent, but pretty good on average.

17. Ureña is less perfect than Hill.

18. Steiner doesn’t understand that announcers are exempt from Rule 9.

    • Usually he violates #8

      • Except that he rarely has any point whatsoever to make.
