Game 97, 2016

Dodgers at Nationals, 9:05AM PT, TV: SPNLA, MASN 2, MLBN (out-of-market only)

The Dodgers’ rotation injuries have forced them to bring young Julio Urias (1-2, 4.95 ERA) back up from AAA OKC, where he’s only thrown one inning since he was sent down on July 5. He’ll have an easy task in front of him; keep the Dodgers in the game against Stephen Strasburg, who’s 13-0 on the year with a 2.51 ERA.

Somebody post the lineup in the comments when it’s published.

    • Awkward – you don’t want A.J. catching every day, but you can’t disable Grandal to bring up Barnes. Kenley as backup catcher?

  1. missed it all today, can’t wait to see the highlights when I get home later!

    • I know I said Coleman should get it but yes Liberatore is as deserving as any of the relievers.

  2. Only 3 relievers left in the pen and Blanton is not likely to pitch in the 7th.

      • You are totally right of course. I forgot about the double switch.

But will he finish the 7th? That remains to be seen.

  3. I’m calling Coleman for the W if the Dodgers hang on and win today. He got one out on one pitch. He was much more effective/efficient than Baez and Avilan.

  4. Strasburg and Lopez and Norris had very similar line scores through 5 innings:
Lopez: 4 2/3 innings, 10 hits, 6 (earned) runs, 1 walk and 9 strike outs
Strasburg: 5 innings, 7 hits, 6 (earned) runs, 1 walk and 9 strike outs
Norris: 5 innings, 7 hits, 6 (earned) runs, 1 walk and 8 strike outs

  5. The two man band of Turner and Howie are playing some fine music this afternoon.
