Dodgers at Pirates, 4:15PM PT, TV: Fox
Kenta Maeda makes his first trip to PNC Park. He carries a 6-4, 2.64 ERA record with him and for now appears to be the #2 guy in the Dodgers’ rotation, at least in terms of reliability. He’ll face the Pirates’ Jeff Locke, who’s 6-5 with a 5.44 ERA. His latest outing was a 6 2/3 inning one in which he outdueled Madison Bumgarner with help from the bullpen and won 1-0.
Local color:
Dodgers left-handed reliever and native Pennsylvanian Adam Liberatore is having an off-the-radar phenomenal season. In 24 innings over 32 games, he has a 0.75 ERA, second lowest among National League qualifiers, and he didn’t even open the season in the big leagues.
Tepesch DFA’ed, IF Chris Taylor up.

Tough loss today.
So far on the road trip our six-game winning streak has been broken and turned into a two-game losing streak to a team which was five games under .500 when we arrived.
Bucs not a bad team and bound to rebound.
It seems unfair that McCutcheon would start to come out of his season-long slump in this game against us.
Why would a pitcher ever bother to throw a strike to Hernandez with two strikes? He swings at virtually anything at that point just as he did in his AB here in the 8th.
Quique needs a breather at OKC, and I expect the acquisition of Chris Taylor will give it to him.
About to board. Go Dodgers!
Enjoy your trip to France.
I wish. Just landed at LAX to see our abysmal showing against an abysmal team.
Of course, he did hit the double first…
Oof. Watching on Gameday as I wait for my next flight. What was AJ thinking?
Not thinking, but rather dreaming of advancing to third.
Maeda pulled off his bunt at the very last second. Ellis had a great view and with his lack of speed had to be ready to run.
Dodgers making Locke look better than he is.
Pre-game entertainment.
An aging retriever, it appears.
