Game 73, 2016

Nationals at Dodgers, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA, MASN

The Nats send Tanner Roark (6-4, 3.14 ERA) out to make his first-ever start against the Dodgers, who counter with Scott Kazmir (5-3, 4.64 ERA). It’s a matchup of differing pitchers: Roark has made it through six innings in 11 of his 14 starts, while Kazmir hasn’t made it past the fifth inning in any of his three starts since May 31.

The Dodgers want to extend their four-game winning streak while the Nationals want to halt their three-game losing streak.

As expected, the Dodgers have activated Yasiel Puig from the 15-day DL and have optioned Carlos Frias back to OKC.

Also, Vinnie is taking the night off to rest his sore throat.

  1. Boy, for those of you who are lucky enough to listen to Vin, last night had to have been bitter sweet. I get my Vin fix by watching video clips of each game.

  2. wow, that’s a nice surprise. The last time I checked in, it was the middle of the 8th 🙂

    • Glad you like it! Just a little something special the Dodgers worked out for you.

  3. Five straight wins for the first time this season.
Seven games over .500 for the first time this season.
    Very nice.

  4. If we go with Jansen in the 9th that will be his third straight day in relief — for the first time this season — as well as his sixth appearance in the last eight days.

  5. Grandal with the very well timed home run! Roark left in a little too long. Thank you Dusty!

  6. So Roark has thrown under 70 pitches in six innings? Whither hath our offense gone?

  7. Kazmir having trouble with the long ball tonight. No shame in giving up the home run to Harper but Espinosa’s I could have done without.

    • The Bucs can only lose one game tonight, and they did us all a favor by beating BadGums last night.

    • It’s unfortunate that someone played on Peavy’s and 2 others commitment to their faith to scam them. Clearly that person has issues.

      • There are lots of faith scammers around. Most of them scam little people; this guy got lucky with Peevy.

        • Frustrating when you are taken advantage of simply because you desire to help people.

          • It’s not gullible to care for others and in general trust people. As I said it’s unfortunate when people are so frustrated with those who believe in caring and helping others that they have to scam them.

          • I re-read the article you posted and it is clear the athletes were targeted because of their Christian faith. Sad.

          • Not surprising that they were targeted because of their faith? That’s sad too!

          • Not surprising because such people lack the capacity for critical thought, and are thus inherently vulnerable to the scammers that infest every such institution. This is the rule, and there are no exceptions.

          • Ha ha ha ha. You made me chuckle. Obviously that’s not true and so I’m winking at you and this. “Such people.” That’s such good satire of Trump and others. Well done.

          • It’s 100 percent true. Trump is just the latest cynical scammer to seek support by targeting people of “faith.”
