Dodgers at Mets, 4:15PM PT, TV: Fox, MLBN (out-of-market only)
Kenta Maeda (3-3, 3.29 ERA) pitches against Noah Syndergaard (5-2, 1.94 ERA) in a rematch of the May 11 game in Los Angeles in which Maeda handled most of the Mets lineup pretty well but gave up two home runs to his opposing number. Syndergaard throttled the Dodgers over 8 innings, giving up only two earned runs.
The Mets will honor the 1986 World Series championship team in a pregame ceremony on the field that begins at 6:15 p.m. ET. Fans received a 1986 replica jersey on Friday and will receive a replica championship ring on Sunday.

Is Syndergaard cynical? http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/29/sports/baseball/chase-utley-missed-by-noah-syndergaard-pitch-burns-the-mets.html?ref=sports&_r=0
Injury Update: Crawford was a hamstring, Thompson has had lower back tightness for a few days, and Maeda’s xray on his wrist was negative.
Perhaps this will cool the trade Puig now advocates.
Kershaw interview in the NY Post.
Happy with 5 hr today
Tomorrow night ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, folks. 5:00pm PT.
We win! (Based on seeing the comment below).
Not only that, but Fien came in and struck out the side in the ninth!
Cool!
Woo-HOO!!!
Yesterday they showed a stat that said the Dodgers were 28th when it came to % of runs scored by home runs. Mets are first.
Nice to see both teams improving their stats tonight.
A-Gon is back up to .291, which is a lot better than he was a couple of weeks ago.
Well, got the run back!
The kids are hitting them. Pederson and Seager lead with 8 and Thompson’s one back.
I am especially happy for Joc.
He and Seager are also tied at the top with 24 RBI; A-Gon’s one back.
Yes!
Third out.
Casey Fien warming up.
I’m not quite sure what they see in him, judging from his stats. He’s a 33-year-old reliever from the AL.
Maybe beggars can’t be…?
Whatever else the Dodgers are, beggars (as in, with no money) are not that.
Ha! Good point.
He just made a good argument for himself.
Yep, sure did. He’s come home, too. He lives in Buena Park and is the nephew of two Ca. state senators, George and Sharon Runner.
Really strong pitches. All strikes.
C’mon Howell. One more out.
Nice time to look in!
Utley has been out of sight today. He’s responsible for 5 runs.
JP gives one up. Better not pull a Kansas City here, guys!
Steiner: “Chase Utley’s been Player of the Week in the last 24 hours.”
And now Wood is gonna pinch-run for Crawford. That’s beyond weird.
Close call at first.
Long ball!
Like I said… Howie!!!
Save a run or two for Kershaw…
A-Gon!!!
I think it’s fair to say none of us expected the kind of play and production Utley’s putting forth so far. He’s just a hair under .300 and his defense has been very good.
And now Gonzo goes deep!
Loney signing because of injuries to the Mets, but this didn’t hurt, I’m sure: “Loney, 32, had been playing with Triple-A El Paso in the Padres
organization. He was hitting .342 with two homers and 28 RBIs in 158
at-bats with the Pacific Coast League club.”
From a couple of hours ago: Mets complain Dodgers using technology
Have one ear to the game tonight, but have the other ear and both eyes on Jimmy Stewart in Anatomy of a Murder.
I think TCM is doing a war movie marathon for the entire Memorial Day weekend too.
I have this recorded from TCM.
I’m a sucker for old movies.
Steiner: “Maybe they should just stop booing him.”
Utley silenced the crowd, apparently.
My brother’s there. Big Mets fan. I will not rub it in.
And now they can’t hit him or they’ll be tossed!
Woot!
Grand slam!!!!!!!
Oh boy!
C’mon, Chase, just a single will knock in a couple of runs.
“lower back soreness” for Trace Thompson.
Doggone it , Puig, learn to run the bases. You ran us out of your possible run.
He got the run, didn’t he?
The RBI, yes, but the inning would still be alive if he’d stayed on first.
With Gonzo running, scoring from second is no sure thing.
Not necessarily the wrong thing to do.
Well, I’m just listening, I don’t have it on TV, and Steiner/Monday said he got into a rundown between 1st and 2nd.
And now they’re saying the rundown gave Gonzalez time to score. Okay, I apologize to Puig.
I think Puig forced the play, and that’s why we got the run.
Puig got the RBI!
So, Frick and Frack just said the western division won’t have a wild card this year? So you guys know what they mean?
It’s presumptuously early to say that.
Probably that the two best records might be in the NL East.
Nats-Mets and Cubbies-Filibusteros is probably their thought.
Utley dinger!
Hee! Yesterday the double in the ninth to clear the bases and now an HR!
Seriously boo’d.
Utley with the scoop!
Oh oh. Thompson may have tweaked his back during his last at bat.
Puig in.
Go Kenta!
Puig would have caught that ball but then probably run head first into the wall.
Poor Maeda. I don’t know how he’s keeping his cool with the being hit on the hand and Thor out and so much distraction.
Well, he was in 217 big league games in Japan in eight years before he suited up for us…;)
I so want to beat the Mets after hearing to these Fox guys blather about how great the Mets are and how wrong the ump was. And I’m a huge former Mets fan.
I think they were being particularly Metty because it was rhe celebration on the 86 Champioship and they had a series of Met players visiting the booth.
Announcers just blamed Utley for Syndergaard’s ejection.
Mets bench is boiling mad.
These announcers say it warranted a warning, but not a toss.
Yeah, they are a bit much.
Fox broadcasters? I have the Nats game on Fox out here.
Yep, Buck and Smoltz.
Huh. Buck, of course, but I thought better of Smoltz. I wonder where Al Leiter is working now; he was excellent during the playoffs a few years back.
Yes.
They love to hear themselves talk. Not about the game, either.
Announcers totally on Thor’s side. 100 mph thrown at someone? Not good.
Just missed it. Did Utley get hit by Thor?
Tried, but ended up throwing behind him.
Crazy!
Hard to say if Thor was aiming for Utley and missed, or tried to throw behind him, which is just weird.
And Collins, too!
Thor thrown out! Literally.
Wow.
These announcers are such Mets homers, seems to me… Anyone else have an opinion? Also, not loving a few pitch calls on Maeda.
Personnel news above.
The awful Giants got a bunch of runs late and came back to beat the Rockies 10-5. Posey had two 3-run homers and 6 RBI.
You misspelled “Gnats” again
So, James Loney has a job again.
Hanley’s defense crowns an epic Sawx meltdown in Toronto.
And the White sox have done the same in KC
That previous match up was a bit of a nightmare.
