Game 16, 2016

Dodgers at Braves, 9:10AM PT, TV: SPNLA, FSSO, MLBN (out of network only).

Clayton Kershaw (2-0, 1.64 ERA) and the Dodgers make their last appearance at Turner Field versus right-hander Matt Wisler (0-1, 4.61 ERA). Kershaw hasn’t pitched much against the Braves in his career; he’s 2-0 in six career starts against them with a 1.79 ERA. He and the Dodgers would to exit with a win, both to take this series 2-1 and to improve the franchise record at Turner, where they’re 30-41 going into this morning’s game.

The game starts at 6:10AM my time, so someone else please find the lineup and post it in the comments. I ain’t getting up at 5:30 just to do it.

    • I have said a few times here and at Dodger Thoughts that Puig could play third. No ine agreed with me.

        • Most wanted to keep his arm and baseball mind in RF. I would love to have his speed at 3rd base not so much defensively but more to remove a slow runner from the lineup as 3rd basemen are usually slower.

The Dodgers have Verdugo and Diaz on their way up and already have Joc, Thompson, SVS, Ethier, Crawford, Hernandez in the outfield. Turner might be a free agent next year.

None of the infielders coming up in the minors seem to be above average. They all seem to be 2 tool infielders and none are third basemen. The next third baseman if Turner leaves seems to be Hernandez unless Puig joins in the battle.

    • Funny how they were talking about him working on his change up right at that moment.

  1. Meanwhile, yesterday:

RHP Pedro Baez underwent the concussion protocol after being struck in
the back of the head by a ball while teammate Adam Liberatore was
warming up in the bullpen during Wednesday night’s game. ”He feels much
better today,” manager Dave Roberts said.

Liberatore said it slipped, and it was about 70 mph rather than 90, but he felt horrible about it.

    • Extremely close but, in my opinion, Kershaw failed to get the foot down on the plate. I can’t disagree with the call.

  2. Got to run and play squash now!
    Then out for lunch.
