Game 26, 2015

Dodgers at Brewers, 5:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA

The Brewers ask Matt Garza to win in his first career start against the Dodgers, while Zack Greinke tries to win after a Dodgers’ loss, which he’s done at least 3 times this season. He’s 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA against the Brewers, but by dint of his short career in a Brewers’ uniform he’s won 15 and lost only 2 at Miller Park. Which fact will prevail?

  1. Was out tonight to see a play (Clever Little Lies) with my beautiful wife. Wonderful to see the team rebound after last nights game. Sorry to miss the in game banter with you all!

    • Which play did you see?
I LOVE theatre and am blessed to make a living writing and directing faith-based skits for churches and schools.
My favorite musical is “Les Miserables.” My favorite “play” is “The Crucible.”

      • We love the theatre as well. Tonight we saw the play Clever Little Lies – a play about infedelity in marriages.

I also love musicals a lot – and Les Mis is one of my favourites as well. Along with most of Sondheim’s stuff. Best play my wife and I have seen live was To Kill A Mockingbird. Simply amazing.

        • I know I’ve been blessed with what I’m able to do, Dave — good for you as well!

I saw a version of “Mockingbird” as well and loved it, but I love the movie and the book even more . . . can’t wait for the “prequel” this summer.”

The skits I’ve had published so far were by Eldridge Plays & Musicals — the most popular are monologs by people at Bethlehem and Calvary.

I’ve since done close to 80 and am hoping to create a website to offer them.

        • Absolutely LOVED it. Hilarious (I still laugh when listening to the soundtrack), touching, and –ultimately — faith-filled.

  2. What a much-needed great performance by Zack!
Once again he proves his value to this team.
As much of a fan of Kersh that I am, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get his 2nd CYA.

  3. Just saw the box score — 7 hits = 7 runs. Very efficient.
And no earned runs for Zack.

  4. These earlier games are wreaking havoc on my writing schedule. Checking in – go Blue! Let’s see if they can score now.

  5. Tale of two hits — Joc’s is solid and caught, this was apparently weak but dropped.
Oh well . . . this is baseball!

  6. Silver Lining Dept.: Not only did Joc NOT K, he apparently hit it well.

      • For 23 of the last 25 innings, it seems pods have inhabited Dodger batters — nothing like they have been for most of the year . . . outside SF — come to think of it, it makes sense that the pods invaded them then!

        • Unlikely to keep scoring 5.5 runs per game, so some regression is to be expected.

  7. I’m impressed Joc was patient enough to get the walk after being the goat last half-inning.
I can see a less mature player being over-eager to prove himself.

    • Just going by audio myself, they said he ran an odd route and got the ball in the glove but it came out. They think he misjudged how hard it was hit.

  8. C’mon, Zack, start this off . . . ‘If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me!’

  9. Who would have guessed that Pederson would have started the game with a … strikeout?
