Dodgers at Braves, 4:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA, ESPN
Newly-acquired Kevin Correia is thrown directly into the fire, making his first start for the Dodgers the very day he’s activated. Pedro Baez was optioned to Albuquerque to make room for him. Correia’s last start was a six-inning, three-run outing against the Padres on August 6. He’ll face Julio Teheran, who is 10-8 with a 2.92 ERA on the season. He had a good game against the Dodgers on July 31, but Kershaw outpitched him (or gave up fewer runs, anyway).

Tonight's #Dodgers lineup:

Kemp RF

According to Gameday Ethier had a great AB before drawing a walk. Didn’t affect game outcome, but good to see him fouling off a bunch of high 90s heat.
It was Cora-esque. 😉
Not quite the same result.
Heh. Lightning rarely strikes twice in the same place, as we know.

great, many thanks
very nice start to the series
Jamey Wright’s best inning of the year.
Braves falling apart.
*Barves
Whoops! And with the bases loaded, too!
nice inning by Wilson
No drama.
Nice inning –several hits to get runs. Luckily I had my phone to stay connected –was on landline and learned my modem is shot.
If Kevin continues like this as well as Hernandez, Ned is gonna be considered a genius!
I’ve been quite critical of Ned, but Hernandez and Correia in their first starts combined to pitch 12 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. That computes to a joint ERA of 2.25. I know it’s very early for the two of them as Dodgers, but I didn’t see that coming and we all know it could have been much, much worse.
Kevin quickly learned the pitchers” motto – if it’s meant to be it’s up to me.
Correia seems to be the anti-Beckett–not a human rain delay while pitching.
And not a total black hole at the plate…
Could have been worse.
King Korreia!
7 pitches, not bad at all
Well, at least Correia can’t get knocked out in the top of the first.
I predict he goes 6 and surprises us both
I’m not holding my breath. He’s not very good.
Well, now, we thought that about Harang and Capuano last year, too.
And they weren’t very good.
I think he delivered on both counts 🙂
