It seems worse than this

Here are the Dodgers’ team stats with runners in scoring position so far this season (the Runs column is N/A for every team; I’m not sure what the statisticians are doing with that) :

They’re 13th of 30 teams. The Rockies lead with a .309 average, and the Padres bring up the rear with a dismal, measly, pick-your-adjective .180.

  1. I suspect that Runs are N/A because Runs on a stat line similar to the line above normally mean runs scored by the batter. But in this case, many readers would assume it would be runs scored by the runners on base (a tally that would be very similar to RBIs). Rather than sorting it out, N/A was used. Seems reasonable to me.
