  1. You know…. I hesitate to be too critical at this point….
But, here are a few early season notes / thoughts ..

    1. Dee Gordon: Very quietly (national media) having an All Star Season thus far.
    2. Hanley Ramirez: “A+” at the plate ….. “C” at SS (at best)
(For instance that hopper he couldn’t get last night with 2 outs and nobody on base was
a play that he absolutely has to make… Many lesser names would have made it. And,
BTW – some of those lesser names are playing in HS and College right now.)
    3. Dodger pitching…. Hot / Cold. (The same guy can be a ‘world beater’ on Tuesday, and a
    ‘chump’ on Wednesday)
    4. Yassy Puig: Up and down… But, really improving quickly… and always exciting!
    5. Scott Van Slyke: Do not trade this guy at the deadline. He’s surprisingly sly and clutch.

    • And, I’ll try to avoid a rule #8 violation this season, but….
      ….
      I really miss Steve Lyons.

I cannot get used to the whole TWC crew. They’re not all bad, but the presentation of the games just doesn’t seem right to me. They’re so corporate… so vanilla in there pristine studio with big screens, and a home plate, etc…. Not fresh. IMHO.

      ….
IMHO- The best crew was Steve Lyons, Kevin Kennedy, & Patrick O’Neil from CF after the games…..

      • Since this is the first time you’ve brought it up, it could hardly be a Rule 8 violation yet.
I don’t know. Yeah, the center field wrap-ups were more informal, but were they better? Orel and Nomar have a lot of knowledge to share. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

        • I found him to be a bit off the wall. Sometimes I enjoyed his antics, but almost never felt that I understood something better after listening to him.

    • Not really seeing the “down” in Puig’s “up and down”. Perhaps “down and up”. In the first 14 games, including a PH, he had a hit in half the games. In his following 25 games he has had a hit in all but 3, including 8 of his 9 dingers.

  2. Checking in after a family pool day. Another loss. I wonder at what point the team starts to worry.

      • Or in my case, a red velvet mini cupcake. That, and listening to ESPN Red Sox guys bemoan their team cheered me up immeasurably!

  3. everyone quiet today 🙂
    Another disappointing loss I see.
Just reading the play by play, I guess if Kemp hits his liner either side of the second baseman, the scores would have been tied.
