Game 17, 2014

D-Backs at Dodgers, 7:10PM, TV: SPNLA.

This is already the third series between the two teams in the young season. Greinke (3-0, 2.76 ERA) has faced the Diamondbacks once this year and won; he’ll try to do it again. Miley (2-2, 5.04 ERA) has faced the Dodgers twice already and has lost both games.

Whether Hanley Ramirez plays or not will be a game-time decision based on how his left hand feels after getting hit by Ryan Vogelsong Wednesday night. Adrian Gonzalez has a twelve-game hitting streak.

Lineup when available.

  1. I don’t like Mattingley’s substations. Should have left Kemp in. Let Turner hit but hit for SVS, etc

      • Kemp merely made the last out in previous inning. putting League in Turner’s spot would have still put 5 hitters in front of League

    • Saw your post before hearing it on Gameday Audio . . . but not sure how good it was — VERY!

      2nd the emotion!

  2. Where has all the offense gone?

Bullpen (and other) problems magnify when you’re not scoring runs.

  3. Says Vinny… “So, Honeycutt goes out there to calm down Withrow…”
    ….
Question: Who’s coming out to calm down all of us Dodger viewers who just saw Brandon League warming up in the pen???? 🙂

  4. Hi everyone! Been watching, without commenting. Close one, though (stating the obvious).

  5. I am not optimistic about Hanley’s playing (effectively) any time soon. Even without a break, not the sort of thing you recover from in a day or two.

It’s both good and bad, arguably, to face the Snakes so frequently so soon. On one level, it’s advantageous to face them when they’re down and losing, but the schedule could mean more games with tougher teams later.
